TASK
Serving special needs kids, youth, and individuals of all ages
TASK is a nonprofit charitable organization that serves, parents,
families and professionals that work with children with disabilities by
providing them with training, support, information, workshops
resources and referrals within the community
TASK was formed by a group of parents of children with
disabilities and formally Incorporated in 1978
TASK is funded through federal, state and private
organizations and donations
TASK is: A Parent Training and Information
Center A Family Empowerment Center
An Alliance for Technology Access Center
A Family Resource Information Center
Southern California Military Outreach
To help families of children with disabilities better understand their child’s disability and educational needs
To help families communicate more effectively with Schools, Service providers by understanding their rights and responsibilities
TASK PURPOSE IS:

IEP’s, IEE’s, ITP’s FBA’s, Educational Workshops
One-on-One and Phone Advocacy Community Outreach Networking
Assisted Technology Services
TASK FAMILY SUPPORT SPECIALIST PROVIDE:

Resolve disagreements with the school district or service
