The Tasmanian Field Naturalists' Club Since t h e last issue o f "The Tasmanian Naturalist" there have been several meetings of t h e Club, a n d t h e attendance h a s been very satisfactory. * * * * * The. Easter Camp w a s held a t . t h e Meredith River, East Coa.st, a n d wa s a most successful fixture. A Special Camp Re-. port will be issued as usual. * * * * * Coloiqel W. W. Gibliin., M.R.C.S., h a s returned from h i s expedition to t h e Great Barrier Reef. H e kindly delivered a n illustrated lecture a t th e Ma y meeting, and h i s remarks were. enjoyed b y a large audience. * * * * * Mr. A. N. Lewis h a s resigned as th e Club's representative o n t he National Park Board, and Mr. Cyril Taylor h a s been appointed i n Mr . Lewis' plac~. T h e Club desires t o pllace o n record its appreciation of the work done b y Mr . Lewis whilst acting as i t s representative on the Board. * * * * * Mr . Clive Lord, w h o has been hon. secretary o f this Club· since 1911, has been elected vice-president o f t h e Royal Austra lasian Ornithologists' Union. * * * * Th e Club has for years b ~ e n endeavouring t o obtain better protection fo r o u r native fauna and t h e wholesale d e s t r n c t i o ~ o f o u r marsupials which h a ~ taken place during th e past five seasons h a s aroused public opinion upon the matter, and there i s every reason to hope f o r a more enlightened policy i n t h e future.
