2. INSTRUCTION FOR SUBMISSION OF COMPANY RETURN
2.1 Login TPOS
This section allows Taxpayer to log in TPOS system by inputting his/her user name and
password.
Step 1: Taxpayer accesses the address http://etaxnbr.gov.bd/
Step 2: Open function Online Filing
On homepage, Taxpayer clicks the “Online Filing” tab, then clicks “Click here” link:

Step 2: Taxpayer inputs username and password
Taxpayer inputs Username and password, which is registered before.
Example: User Name: 223824165395
Password: 123456a@
Then, Taxpayer inputs captcha code, which is displayed on the screen in the “Enter the code
above” box.
Finally, click Log in button or press Enter.
For more security, at the first time login, Taxpayer has to change password, which is generated
by the system.
Change password:
After clicking “Login”, the system will require taxpayer to change password as screenshot below.
Taxpayer input required information:
Old password: Input password which was said in Taxpayer’s Online Account Certificate
New Password: Input new password, which satisfies 3 conditions below:
Different from old password
Between 8 and 20 characters
Contains at least one character, one number and one special character (!, @, #, $, %, ^,
&, *)

Confirm Password: Input new password again.
Then, Taxpayer clicks “Change” button to change password.
2.2 Save Draft Tax Return form
This section shows Taxpayer how to file a tax return and save it as a draft into TPOS system
without submitting it to Tax officer.
Step 1: Choose a tax return
There are two ways for Taxpayer to choose a tax return:
Option 1: In “Task overview” tab, user chooses a tax return for processing by clicking on “Filing”
in “Task” Column.

Option 2: In “Filing” tab, choose “File a new tax return”.
Next, user inputs tax type, tax form and period as mentioned below:
Tax Type: user chooses “Company Form”
Tax Form: this information is displayed automatically by the system based on selected tax
type
Period: user chooses income year of return

Finally, user chooses Next button, then system displays all forms of a tax return including
main return and interfaces.
Name Description
1. Main return Taxpayer will input information in Company return form as
prescribed of return for Company taxpayers in Income Tax
Rules, 1984
2. Additional information – 1 Taxpayer will input information in interfaces that specify
criteria in main return. This interface specifies the following
information:
- Basic information
- Capital Gains
- Income from Interest on Securities
- Income from house property
- Agricultural income
- Income from other sources
3. Additional information – 2 This interface specifies the following information:
- Detail of Sales/ Turnover/ Receipts

Step 2: Input data on tax return
1. Main return
This form is designed as same as the form of tax return for Company Taxpayers in Income tax
Rules, 1984.
Mandatory fields in this form include:
- “Contact person”: Name, Designation, Telephone
User clicks on form “1. Main return”, then chooses Open button. User inputs information
and calculates income tax in this form. In this form grey fields are displayed automatically from
TIN of Taxpayer like: name, UITN, TIN, Incorporation No, Circle, Tax zone, assessment year,
address, etc. In Company return there is no automatic calculation. Taxpayer will input all field by
yourself.

The system displays verification and acknowledgement slip after user inputs information in all the
above forms of Main Return and in the verification form (refer to 4.Additional information – 3)

In this table, Taxpayer will input information relate to Sponsor Share holder or Director of Bank and

In this table, Taxpayer will input information relate to Capital gain due to transfer/sale of capital

button. After that, you have to click on “Save Draft” for save the data into the system. At last, you
have to click on “Apply and Close” button for return the main screen.

This interface specifies following information:

This table allows Taxpayer to input Detail of Sales/ Turnover/ Receipts. Each Type/Nature of
Business/Profession Taxpayer has to input amount of Sales Sales (Export), Sales (Local),
Turnover, Receipts, VAT and Net Sales for both Current income year and Previous income year.

This table allows Taxpayer to input detail of Gross profit for Business only. Taxpayer will input
Name/Type/Nature of Business, Rate of Gross profit, amount of gross profit for current year and

Detail of expenses – Production related
This table allows Taxpayer to input quantity and cost for production related for both current year
and previous year. However, Taxpayer cannot input in column Quantity of Cost of production per
Unit of product and column Cost of Total Production Capacity.
Salary expenses
This table allows Taxpayer to input information relate to Salary expenses of the company which
include Salaries, Wage and Director’s remuneration.

This table allows Taxpayer to input amount of all Other expenses of the company which include
Foreign travel, Free Sample, Entertainment, Royalty and technical know-how fees, Perquisite,
Expenditure more than 50,000 Tk., Incentive bonus, Vehicle purchase and Depreciation expense.
Give detail of Donation, Subscription and gift
This table allows Taxpayer to input detail of Donation, Subscription and gift of the company.

This table allows Taxpayer to input detail of Financial expenses of the company. Taxpayer will
input Loan Account No./Issue No., choose one type of account in list, input Bank/Financial
Institute, Branch name, Amount of loan sanction, Amount of Mortgage Interest/Fees/Charges in
both current year and previous year, Amount of Loan balance in both current year and previous
year.
Statement of Withholding taxes
This table allows Taxpayer to input Statement of Withholding taxes of the company. Taxpayer will
choose Heads of expenses/Sources of deduction in list, input Expenses Claimed amount
Withholding tax authority, Date of payment of tax, choose Name of Bank and Name of Branch in
list, input Challan no., Amount on which Tax is Deducted, Tax deducted at sources, Amount of
Payment of VAT and Date of payment of VAT. The system will display section of each Heads of
expenses/Sources of deduction automatically after Taxpayer clicks “Check and Calculate”

Name Description
No. Display the order of row in the table.
Amount of tax Taxpayer will input the amount in figure of each challan.
Payment date Taxpayer will input the payment date of each challan.
Challan no. Taxpayer will input challan number. This field is
mandatory if field “Amount of Tax” is inputted.
Name of Bank Taxpayer will choose name of bank in the provided list.
This field is mandatory if field “Amount of Tax” is
inputted
Name of Branch Taxpayer will choose name of branch in the provided
list. This field is mandatory if field “Amount of Tax” is
inputted
When inputting all necessary information into form, you have to click on “Check and calculate”
button.After that, you have to click on “Save Draft” for save the data into the system. At last, you
have to click on “Apply and Close” button for return the main screen.

This interface specifies following information:

Advance, Deposits and Prepayments
This table allows Taxpayer to input detail of Advance, Deposits and Prepayments. Taxpayer
inputs Name/Type of Advance, Deposits and Prepayments and amount of Advance, Deposits and
Prepayments for both Current year and Previous year.
Detail of Paid-up capital
This table allows Taxpayer to input detail of Paid-up capital. Taxpayer inputs Number of ordinary
shares, number of Bonus shares, Rate of shares and paid up capital for both Current year and
Previous year, input name of Bank and Account number.
Long term and short term borrowings
This table allows Taxpayer to input data of Long term and short term borrowings. Taxpayer inputs
Loan account no./Issue no., chooses type of account in provided list, input Bank/Financial

Institute, Branch name, Amount of loan sanction, Mortgage Interest/Fees/charges and Loan
balance for both Current year and Previous year.
Creditors/Payables
This table allows Taxpayer to input data of Creditors/Payables. Taxpayer inputs Name/type of
Creditors/Payables, TIN, Amount of Creditors/Payables for both Current year and previous year.
Detail of Bank accounts
This table allows Taxpayer to input Detail of Bank accounts. Taxpayer inputs particulars of Bank
accounts, Account number, Account type, Name of Bank, Name of Branch, Interest receipt, Tax
deducted at source, Deposit during the year and Balance of Bank account for both Current year
and previous year.

Acknowledgement receipt

Acknowledgement Receipt displays information of return automatically such as: Date of receipt of
return, serial number, nature of return, name of Taxpayer, TIN, assessment year…Taxpayer has to
input Total income and Tax paid into Acknowledgement Receipt. This amount will be displayed in
Acknowledgement Receipt in Main return after Taxpayer clicks “Check and calculate”.
When inputting all necessary information into form, you have to click on “Check and calculate”
button. After that, you have to click on “Save Draft” for save the data into the system. At last, you
have to click on “Apply and Close” button for return the main screen.
Step 3: Save draft tax return
In this step, Taxpayer clicks Save Draft button to save tax return as a draft. User can
save draft tax return without processing all forms of a tax return. As long as user saves draft
successfully, system displays notice as on the screen below. User can use form number (in this
case is No.19000001773) to search draft return for the next time process.

2.3 Process Draft Tax Return form
This section allows user to search for tax return saved as draft to continue processing.
Step 1: Search for draft tax return
There are three ways for Taxpayer to find out a draft return:
Option 1: Open “Task Overview” tab and double-click on draft return
Option 2: In “Filing” tab, choose “Process draft tax return”. Next, input selection criteria on the
screen to find out draft return:
Tax type: user chooses company form
Tax form: this information is displayed automatically based on tax type.
Date from...to...: input the time period when user saved return as draft
Finally, click “Search” button to start searching.

Option 3: In “Filing” tab, choose “Process draft tax return”. Taxpayer can search by inputting
submission ID as on the screen below and click Find button. Then, system displays result in
“Draft tax return” table. To open return, click Next button.
Step 2: Process a draft tax return
This step allows user to choose a draft tax return in order to continue processing.
After user presses Next button, system displays main return and interfaces of return as
on the screen below. Choose main return or an interface and press Open to input data in
it.

2.4 Submit return
This section guides Taxpayer how to submit a tax return after processing all forms included in
that return.
Step 1: Check status of forms
In order to submit a tax return, Taxpayer has to process all forms of that tax return.
If any form is not processed, user can refer to Step 2: Input data on tax return in section 2.2 Save
draft tax return form to see more details about how to input data in each form of a tax return.
Step 2: Add attached document (if any)
This step allows user to attach supporting documents with a tax return (if any). User can choose
to attach document before or after processing forms of return. In order to upload file, user follows
these steps below:
Choose Add button, system displays screen as follow

Click Browse button to choose file from user’s computer (Note: The maximum
upload file size is 2 MB each time and user can choose various types of file such as word,
excel, pdf, xml...)
Enter name of file in title
Choose Upload button to upload supporting document with return
Step 3: Submit a tax return
Click Submit button to submit a tax return. As soon as Taxpayer submits a tax return
successfully, system displays confirmation as below:

2.5 View and print confirmation
This section allows user to print confirmation raised automatically by system after user submits a
tax return successfully.
To print this confirmation, user follows these steps below:
Step 1: Choose Print Confirmation button. After user chooses Print Confirmation
, system displays the following screen to user to preview confirmation before
printing.
Step 2: Choose Print button
After choosing Print button, user selects an appropriate print machine, number of copies
and pages to print.

Step 3: Choose Print button to print confirmation.
2.6 View Filing history
This section allows user to find out a tax return submitted successfully in system.
In tab “Filing”, user chooses “Filing History”.
To view history of submission, user may choose one of the following options:
Option 1: Search by Tax type, tax form and date from
Input information as below:
Tax type: user chooses company form
Tax form: this information is displayed automatically by the system
Date from....to....: user inputs the time period in which user submitted a tax return.
Press to find out the expected return.
Option 2: Search by submission ID
Input submission ID got from confirmation after the return is submitted.
Select Find button. The system will display tax return in table below.
Click Open button to view return.

2.7 Print return
This section allows user to print forms of a tax return. User can print out return before or after
submitting it.
Step 1: Open form
User opens form which needs to be printed (refer to section 2.6 View filing history to see more
details about finding return which was submitted).
Step 2: Print form
After opening the form, which you would like to print, you click to button to print that form.
Refer to Step 2: View Certificate of section 2.5 View and print confirmation to see more details
about how to choose print machine.

2.8 View/Print Certificate
Step 1: Search for Certificate
You can search certificate by using part “Correspondence” in tab “Task overview”.
In field: date from.... to....: you input the time period when you submit a tax return. Then, you click
Search button, system will display all notices on the screen below:
