WHY A CAMPAIGN?
Change of Culture Needed
Before
Most TB testing done for drug treatment and shelter programs
(Program), work and/or school requirements
Program case managers and their clients, employers and school
administrators were going through the motions to “check the
boxes” and not focusing on TB prevention
Now
Focus on TB prevention education among these important
stakeholders
Promote awareness that taking medication for TB infection is a
benefit both to the individual and public health
WHERE TO START. . .
TB Prevention Outreach Overview First, find out what individuals know about TB
● Conduct observations of TB test results
● Organize focus groups for high-risk populations
• Bi-national US/Mexico
• Vietnamese

• Drug treatment and/or homeless population
