The tris-borate EDTA buffer has been optimized for agarose gel electrophoresis of nucleic acids. PREPARING THE BUFFER: 1. To make a 10x concentrate, dissolve the powdered mix in 500 ml of distilled or deionized water (a stir plate, if available, may be useful). 2. After the buffer concentrate is completely dissolved, dilute 1 part concentrated buffer in 9 parts distilled or deionized water. 3.
