Notification Details:
The total numbers of TBT notifications issued by the various WTO-member countries in
March 2014 were 233. Among these 233 notifications, 79 notifications were addendums
that notified adoption of a regulation based on a notification issued earlier.
Product-wise Information: Out of the total 233 notifications, 120 related to food
products, 30 related to electrical equipments, 23 related to domestic appliances, 10
related to pharmaceutical products, 8 to plastic related products and the remaining 42
notifications were related to textiles, tobacco, toys, gas containers, cosmetics, chemicals
and automobiles. Please note that out of the 233 notifications, in case of nine
notifications we found that the link for downloading those notifications were non-
functional. We have requested the respective TBT enquiry points to provide us with the
details of these notifications. However the TBT enquiry point in their response replied that
these notifications are in their respective language and will be uploaded at the WTO as
and when the translated version is available.
Country-wise Information: Out of the total 233 notifications, Ecuador issued 32
notifications, followed by Qatar 23, Israel, Saudi Arabia, EU, USA, UAE, Turkey and Mexico
with 16, 15, 14, 12, 12, 12 and 12 notifications, respectively. The remaining 85
notifications were from other WTO Member countries.

Request for relevant regulations/translated copies sent to the issuing countries:
We have sent request for regulations/translated copies for 88 notifications.
a. We received responses from Qatar, Israel, Thailand, Korea, Honduras, United
Arab Emirates, South Africa, Bahrain, Hungary, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia and
Taiwan. So, a total of 14 responses were obtained.
b. Out of these 14 responses, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Hungary, Taiwan and
Bahrain provided us the copies of English version of the regulations.
c. Other countries like Qatar, Israel, Thailand, Korea, Mexico, Honduras and United
Arab Emirates has responded that they do not have an English version of
regulation.
d. In addition to this, Russia and Ecuador has not yet responded to our request.

DOE proposes amended energy conservation standards for commercial clothes washers. The proposed standards, which are expressed for each product class in terms of a minimum modified energy factor (MEFJ2) 1 and a maximum integrated water factor (IWF) are given in tables in the regulation. These standards would apply to all products manufactured in, or imported into, the United States on or after the date three years after the publication of the final rule for this rulemaking.
