We, founded in 2003 under the roof of Dokuz Eylül University and under the idea of producing solar powered vehicles, are a student team that includes academics, young investors and PhD students starting from the undergraduate level.

As a team that adopts efficiency as a principle and continues its activities by adopting the values of passion, respect, honesty and discipline, we run to our goals with determination. We create value as environmentally friendly with our zero carbon emission vehicles.

After completing all of our preparations for S7 for the race, our car transporter was
occupied at the Port of Alexandria. Therefore we participated in the race with our sister
team Hochschule Bochum Solar Car Team.
we participated in races in countries such as France, Belgium, Morocco, Egypt and Australia and achieved first place success in these races.
Our team, hopes for a cleaner and more livable future, draws attention to renewable energy sources with the vehicles it produces.

Solaris was established within Dokuz EylülUniversity.
Our second solar car, S2 which following Erke’s footsteps, was produced.
New car, new hope. Smyrna.
Smyrna took the 5th place in ESC while S7 brought our firstoverseas victory in Mo-roccan Solar Challenge.
S8 returned 3rd from Moroccan SolarChallenge.
We produced our newest solar vehicle S10 and joined WSC 19. At thesame time, we took the 2nd in MSC19 with S8.
Turkey’s first solar car Erke produced.
S2 won the firstinternational prize with ‘Sun Life Solar Car Design’
Our 4th car S7produced and won the 2nd place in Moroccan Solar Challenge.
Our most successful car S8 produced and we participated for 2nd time in World Solar Challenge.
We won the 2nd place in Albi Eco Solar Race with S8.

The production of our 6th solar car S10, which we have been working onsince 2018, has been successfully completed. With our new car, we became the“Only Turkish Team” participating in Bridgestone World Solar Challenge 2019held in Australia between 13-20 October.
The aerodynamic design of our newest vehicle S10, produced in 2019, wascompletely designed by our team. The body of our vehicle, whose design isasymmetric catamaran type; polymer composite including carrier parts, driverconsole and other in-car mechanisms.
All electrical components are designedand manufactured by our team, including MPPT (Maximum Power PointTracker), which determines the efficiency of solar energy, and the
BMS (Battery Management System) we use to monitor the vehicle’s energy. Monocrystalline semi-flexible panels with 22.8% efficiency were used as solar panel technology.
As a result; All of our vehicle systems, including the electric motor, includingthe battery and panel group, were designed and manufactured by our team. This shows that our vehicle provides more than 90% of locality.

Our fifth solar vehicle S8, which was produced in 2015, is our most successful vehicle and is a source of pride for our team. It is still actively participating in the races.
New aerodynamic design of S8, made by our team. The body is made up of carbon fibre, including bearing components, driver’s console, and other in-car mechanisms.
The MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking), which determines the efficiency of the energy from the sun, and the BMS (Battery Management System) that we use in monitoring the
energy of the car and in the safety of the vehicle, were also designed and produced by our team.
As solar panel technology, we used semi-flexible panels with a monocrystalline structure with 22.8% efficiency. In general, all systems except the battery and panel parts of our car are designed and manufactured by our team.

Our source of inspiration is Sun. We deliver essential energy for our cars from it. As Sun keeps shining, we will keep working.
Solaris produces solar powered cars by its own budget and supplies logistics costs, race entry fees. Sum of all these terms are high, therefore, our team needs moral and material support of our precious partners.
Solaris, in its 17-year history; participated 29 races in total including domestic/abroad and continue to participating new ones.In addition, 11 vehicles were produced, 5 of which were electric and 6 of which were solar.
Our sponsorship rights are categorized with certain limits. As the conditions can change according to the support size; we can talk about having a logo as a fundamental right.You will have your logo on the appropriate size according to the sponsorship category on our website, team t-shirts and our vehicle. If the main sponsorship is given, the vehicle’s right to name will be taken. We think that it can be an important step in increasing the recognition up country and abroad. We also express in every opportunity that our supporters support us in this project. Because we want all our family members to share this pride.
We begin with designing our cars. In the sequel, with precious support from our partners, we provide electronical and mechanical materials. Our entire team works determinedly to produce the new car, then participates in the following challenges in the following year. We bring different degrees from competitions we placed in.
As the Solaris Team; Turkey’s first solar vehicle with the producing team being together 17 years of work we are taking new successes in each new period. We are trying to contribute to world science and represent our country abroad by improving ourselves with our works without any purpose of material interest. Unfortunately; Producing vehicles and participating in the races within this project cost us a very high cost. We believe that we will be stronger with our teams determination to work and valuable support from our sponsors, and we will succeed by overcoming difficulties more easily.
We are a huge family with our team members, supporters, and of course our vehicles. Solaris has never left our efforts unrequited and has given us the indescribable happiness of returning to our country with pride in every race.
With the tools we produce by combining our knowledge and experience in our 17-year history with the developing technology every day; we promise a cleaner and livable world for the future by stepping and encouraging the use of zero carbon emis-sion, environmentally friendly, solar powered vehicles.
We are a team working for science, with no material interests. As long as we have sponsors that support us, we continue to produce vehicles and participate in races. Although the hard work and determination of the members of our team is high, it becomes difficult for us to achieve our goals when we experience financial inadequacies. Production of a new vehicle and participating in a race with that vehicle cost us a very serious amount. Because of both being an internationally oriented team and general economic problems, spending at the exchange rate can put us in difficult situations. However, thanks to our valuable supporters, we have always resolved our problems for 17 years and we will continue to succeed as long as we have supporters who continue to believe us.
