LEADERSHIP MATTERS by Roger Yancey, D.Min.
On December 1st the TEBA Executive Board gathered together and unanimously voted to call Darrell Ingram as the Associated
Director for the TEBA. Darrell and his family returned to the United States after serving for the past 14 years with the Internation-al Mission Board, largely in the Central Asia region. You will find an abridged resume for Darrell on the following page and you will see a high level of commitment to reaching some of the most unreached people in one of the most challenging areas of ser-vice. While needs within his extended family were factors in their return to the USA under the IMB VRO, our opportunity to have Dar-rell, as a vital member of the Ministry Team of the TEBA is a tremendous blessing. He has served with the TEBA since July 2016 as a part-time consultant in the area of Church Planting and proved to be a great resource. We were blessed to have a number of highly capable and qualified candidates so the choice was chal-lenging but God was faithful to show us His will. Darrell will be a blessing to your church and a resource to you. He is look-ing forward to getting to know each of the churches in the TEBA and the letter below is a great introduction of his heart. It was a joy to gather around him at the conclusion of the Executive Board meeting and to pray for God’s blessings on his ministry here at the TEBA! In Kingdom service,
Executive Director Dear TEBA Family, Hello and Happy Holidays everyone! I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for allowing me to join the team at the Tryon Evergreen Baptist Association effective January 2017. Just being able to type these words to you is the answer to a major prayer in the lives of my family - and I’m indeed grateful. Looking back at our transition back to the U.S. over the past six months, we can see God’s perfect timing and sover-eign hand in our arrival here. We stand in awe of His goodness this holiday season. My family and I have recently returned from serving in Central Asia with the Interna-tional Mission Board for the past 14.5 years. During that time, I’ve gained quite a bit of experience with church planting within closed countries, discipleship, training and of course, evangelism. I pray that God will allow me to use what He has gifted me with to bless churches within this association. While my experience has been primarily over-seas in the Muslim world, now I get the opportunity to learn more about you and the local church…and there’s quite a lot to learn….but I’m ready to jump in with both feet. My exposure to the TEBA team thus far has revealed to me a commitment level to relationally serve the local church that is astounding - and it’s what awakened me to the Kingdom potential that exists here. They pray regularly for you & your church. Each of you should be aware that you have an advocate here in this office. I join a team already deeply committed to unifying and strengthening the local church in whatever capacity is needed. It’s my honor to link arms with them in this effort. Part of what defines the Kingdom of God is God being glorified through a growing body of maturing believers. My heart is that God would indeed be glorified through churches in this association working together to disciple others who disciple others. May we honor Him in both our strengths and our weaknesses. Thank you again for this opportunity. I look forward to getting to know you better. Blessings to you, Darrell, Terri and Noel Ingram
