We are currently living in a digital age. Every church should have a website and be
involved in some type of social media. Your online presence is a great way to reach people you
didn’t even know you were reaching. Think of this as another campus of your church. People are visiting whether you know it or not.
Your church should be reflected in what they see on their screens. You don’t want your website or Facebook page to come across as
cold and unwelcoming when your church is the exact opposite. People are coming to these online platforms to get a glimpse into the
life of the church and it’s up to you to you to show them that. Take a good long look at your website, look at it through the eyes of a
visitor. Go page by page, tab by tab and see if a visitor could navigate it easily. Make sure you spend extra time analyzing your
homepage. This is going to be the most seen page on your entire website. There should be everything a visitor need to know about you
without having to dig any deeper. The key is doing this without making your page look cluttered, clean and consistent is what you are
going for. Here are a few things that should be seen on your homepage.
72% of all adult internet users are on Facebook, this means you should be also. Facebook is the easiest social media platform to join
because most people are familiar with it. There is some obvious ways to use Facebook, like announcing events or sermon series. While
these are great things that you should be doing I want to highlight a couple out of the box ways to reach people via Facebook.
There are a few things to remember when creating a website and using social media. You have to be aware of what you are doing.
Choose your words wisely, just as you do from the pulpit or in front of your Sunday School class. Before you post pictures make sure
you have written consent, especially when students or children are involved. And remember this is a fun way to reach the community
around you, while cautions are needed don’t run scared from in. Embrace it and help bring your church into 2017.

Don’t just self-promote - post articles that will speak to or encourage your followers. This will elevate
your page to a more personal level.

Create groups - Public: for different ministries. Private: for pray teams or small groups
Welcome Cheyenne Solis – Short-Term Ministry Consultant We have been blessed to have Cheyenne Solis join our ministry team as a short-term project consultant. He comes to us from serving with the IMB in the Amazon Basin as well as other ministry locations in South America. He is going to help us focus on how to develop a strategy to reach an area between Cleveland, Plum Grove and the northern part of the Grand Parkway. He also will be helping us in a limited way in our work with Hispanic Pastors in the TEBA. Cheyenne will be surveying the area for the development of a future work and will be talking with the residents. He will work with area pastors, TEBA Missions Team and our Staff to develop a strategy to guide in ministry
development. Cheyenne has a strong ministry background that is demonstrated by his places of service:
IMB - April 2009 – June 2017 South America in the Amazon Jungles of Brazil.
