Amidst the challenges in the E-Sale, unethical business models, new-age business ventures, we are getting positive vibes towards the hardware industry. A recent gartner study tells that with the emerging technologies in the IoT space, there will be more spends by their companies in the hard-ware space. Also, the announcements by certain state governments in India on making entry-tax compulsory for all the IT product is yet another good-to-hear information for us.

Gujarat Governent has recently levied an entry tax in Gujarat for the products purchased online. Meanwhile, e-commerce giant Flipkart sued the Uttarakhand government for the levying entry tax. Selling goods to various states is increasingly get-ting difficult for Indian e-commerce companies as more states are thinking of levying the 10% entry tax, said an ET report.

Currently, Uttarakhand, Bihar and Assam

charge a 10% entry tax on goods bought online and coming into the state from outside. This tax is billed to the courier company, the cost of which will eventually be passed on to the customer.

This issue, on the association side, we have Mumbai-based ASIRT planning to form a legal cell and expand their operations across India. The other leading association TAIT has also conducted knowledge series for their members.

We also have some Vendor-related major announcements from born-in-India, Tally solu-tions, winning their 1 millionth customer and Epson projectors had retained their leading posi-tion in the Indian market. We also have security brand F-Secure enjoying a decade in e-protecting Malaysia.

Tally Solutions Pvt. Limited (TSPL), the pre-mier Indian software product company, announced its one millionth customer win across the globe. From its humble beginning in 1986, Tally Solutions today offers its solutions to a million customers in over 100 countries, including India, Middle East & North Africa, sub-Saharan Africa, Asia Pacific, and SAARC countries.Driven by innovation, path breaking technology and a robust partner ecosystem, Tally Solutions has emerged as India’s leading business manage-ment software product company, catering to cus-tomers across industry verticals, including BFSI, Retail, Hospitality, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Education, and Construction.“In our three decade long journey, our customers and partners have contributed immensely to our growth. On this momentous occasion, we thank all our stakeholders for their continued support and commitment towards Tally,” said Tejas Goenka, Executive Director, Tally Solutions. “Looking ahead, we aggressively aim to add to the million and penetrate deeper globally while continuously enhancing the product experience.” he added.A recent study conducted by IMRB International and commissioned by Tally Solutions, mentioned that 88 per cent of the licensed Tally users are highly satisfied and 94 per cent of users surveyed indicating that they are ‘likely to continue’ with Tally software. The study, was conducted with 3500 respondents comprising of CIOs, IT Heads, Accounts & Finance teams and business owners, was undertaken with the intent to understand the usage and attitude of licensed Tally users amongst Small and Medium Businesses in India, while identifying the usage behaviour and experiences online product purchase and sales. As a pioneering technology company from India, Tally Solutions was the first to introduce codeless software, a natural language interface, path-break-ing remote functionality and other unique capa-bilities. It was the first to launch free service and breakaway commercial terms including free upgrades and no charge per seat to transform the ownership experience. Its strong principle right from the early years to reach customers through a dedicated partner network has resulted in a robust partner system of 28,000+ partners.

Kaspersky Lab along with SEA Infonet, one of its National Distributor for enterprise products, suc-cessfully concluded its first event of Non-Endpoint centric End-customer Pitstop series on 29th April, 2016 in Pune. This will definitely boost our channel presence and coverage.”“This tie up will furthermore strengthen the SMB and enterprise portfolio of Compuage Infocom Ltd. which will enable TP-LINK to increase their presence and reach in the untapped geographies. We as a value added distributor will work closely with the partner fraternity and increase the mind-share and market share of TP-LINK” said Bhavesh Mehta, Director and COO at Compuage Infocom Ltd.Compuage is one of India’s leading IT & Telecom distribution company. Over the years, it has trail blazed its way into being the most sought after, value added distributor of global IT brands. prospective end-customers. Technical experts from Kaspersky Lab discussed about the need for security for virtual environment and network attached storages and how to find the right bal-ance between security and performance. The key content of the program focused on technical overview of Kaspersky Security for Virtualization & Kaspersky Security for Storage. Kaspersky Secu-rity for Virtualization delivers protection for VDI and virtual server environments such as VMware, Citrix, Microsoft and KVM platforms; while Kasper-sky Security for Storage provides protection for data stored on NetApp, Dell, Hitachi, IBM and Ora-cle storage appliance systems.Altaf Halde, Managing Director, Kaspersky Lab, South Asia said, “Increasing use of virtualized environments to reduce cost and increase flex-ibility has created specific areas of IT security complexity and we have seen that security is not given importance when it comes to virtualization and storage platforms. It is not a secret that Cyber criminals are becoming more smarter and at the same time the impact of losses due to cyber-crimi-nal activities is becoming very high. Virtualisation and Storage platforms are prone to attacks, if not protected well. This series of customer pitstop is more to educate CIO’s & IT Heads, on the dangers and offer them ways to address this loophole..”Biswajeet Saha, Director, SEA Infonet added, “Busi-nesses are unaware of benefits of specialised secu-rity for virtual environments. Many companies are relying on standard Endpoint Security-class solu-tions to protect their virtual environments, poten-tially leading to reduced performance and creating an excessive load on their systems. This event is a direct interaction with customers and provides them valuable information.”The meeting concluded on a note that Kaspersky Lab will return with more such events in coming months that will give customers an overall picture of the solutions provided by Kaspersky in the B2B space.
