Yes and Yes!✗ Every student will get a chromebook✗ Every student will need to use it
▪ Your teachers will be incorporating more and more chromebook assignments and activities as the year goes on
✗ Think of your chromebook like your textbooks, only with way more resources!▪ In some cases, your chromebook will take the place of your textbook▪ No heavy textbook…yay!

Where do I keep my device?
✗ During the day…• Need it for class? – keep it on you• Don’t need it for class? – keep in on the TOP SHELF
of your locker• It never goes into the PE locker rooms• It never goes to the cafeteria
✗ At the end of the day…• Take it home to charge

❑ Carry with 2 hands, especially in the hallway❑ Make sure there is nothing inside (like a pencil) before
closing❑ Keep drinks on the floor, not your desk❑ Clean it using the special cloths & spray from your teachers
❑ NOT a wet cloth, soap, or water.❑ A protective case is recommended

During the school day
✗ Report this as soon as you are aware to the teacher you are with at the time.

I turned in my Chromebook to get repaired, but I need it for class today!
✗ You will be given a loaner device while your device is being repaired
✗ Your teacher will send you to Mrs. Brandle, who will issue a loaner if needed.
✗ Take good care of it!✗ Insurance will be offered for a low
cost to cover accidental damages. More info coming soon!

✗ You will rent the same device for 9th - 12th grade at THS

✗ The first thing that you do to use your chromebook is log in▪ That means you are literally signing your name to every site you visit and every
Google search▪ A great reason to NOT let others borrow your chromebook
✗ Everything you do on your chromebook leaves a DIGITAL FOOTPRINT

✗ We are telling you this now, not because we want to “catch” you, but because we want you to know so that you can make smart, responsible choices!
✗ Remember what you say online STAYS online. Other people can see it, share it, copy it! Think before you post.
What if I don’t have internet at home?✗ You can work on your device without the internet✗ You can work in Docs, Slides, Sheets, read text on a website, and more
as long as you…✗ Get set up BEFORE you leave school for the day✗ Open the tabs and sites that you will need to work from at home before leaving
school and you can still access them without the internet✗ Once you return to school (or a WiFi connection) any work done will be
updated and saved

What are the daily expectations?
✗ Bring your device to school everyday✗ Keep it charged! If it’s below 50% - CHARGE IT✗ Never share your device or passwords with anyone✗ Check your school email and Classroom often✗ Store it on the top shelf of your locker✗ Never take your device to PE locker rooms or the cafeteria✗ Keep drinks away from it✗ Report issues (broken key/screen, missing device, etc.)
