What a year it has been.... All kinds of Krazy things happening!
Next year will be my 5th year open, and I can’t wait. To all of our dancers that are moving this sum-mer, we wish you all the best...
I would like to thank everyone for sharing this day with us. These dancers work really hard all year to not only learn their dances but to make sure they are performing as entertainers.
Thank you to all the Moms who were a huge help at the studio, and stepped in when we needed them to.
Thank you to our sewers who help to finish all the ruffle butt sweat... Don’t they look great on stage!
Thank you to Monica and Kim who, without them, my life would have been even Krazier!
Thank you to Stacey Kanak, who with out a doubt... Kept me as sane, and at moments had to slap me back into reality... Thank you for everything!
Thank you to my little assistants and demonstrators all year... Carsen, Logan, Amber, Ashlyn, Chey-anne & Major.
Thank you to my family:My Parents... who are always reminding me to slow down... Duely noted.
Kalani... who during the school year, between his schedule and mine, always understood why I could not be at his games or why I would show up late.
Emmanuel, my husband, Thank you for stopping by the studio and asking if I need anything, for doing my laundry, for fixing dinner to make sure I ate during recital season. And for understanding why for a week... I
was just going to bed... when he was waking up! Thank you for all of your support this year! Cheyanne... Yes, last again. Cause I needed to make sure I had enough room on this paper to get it all in.
Thank you for being patient with me, when I ask you to wait, while I help others before you. Thank you for all your help this year with the recital program and for staying up with me through all of it. Thank you for being
there when I needed you and thank you for being You! I am very proud of you... I Love all of you with all of my heart.... Thank you!

Dance can bring so much joy to a person’s life weather they are the dancer or the audience. Dance teaches you so many life lessons... So it doesn’t matter what you want to be in life.... Follow your dreams ...Even with disap-pointments and pain along the way, your heart and soul will be forever ful lled for your lifetime. Never stop moving, and when you feel like nothing is going right for you... turn the music up, close your eyes.... and remember...Your Dance! Love, Ms. Te any
Well. It was supposed to end there, followed by some jibberish I wrote for the program. And then, I uploaded my recital program, and back came the reading that gave me over 400 warnings. Really, did that just happen. Did I just loose 3 days of sleep, to get back a reading of warnings. I mean, what is a warning anyway? What am I supposed to do with warnings? But, now looking back, I think it was God’s way of saying… Take a step back re-evaluate!
A er walking away from “MAC”, teaching a few classes, talking to my dancers, parents, and remembering the past year. I came home with a lot on my mind. It’s not like I have not been thinking about it for the last couple of months, anyway. But, tonight, of all nights… I feel the urge to put it all down on paper…
What am I doing and how did I get here? I remember being in high school and someone asked what are you go-ing to do? And I said Dance. I remember them saying, “No….For Real?” I responded… For real, that is what I am going to do. And I was told… THAT IS NOT A REAL JOB! My response… I know and that’s the best part.
at was over 20 years ago! Do I still feel the same? I always had this feeling in my gut that this is what I wanted and what I was. is is what I was going to do and I did not care how many people told me… Just get a real job. I am thinking now, man I am glad I never listened to them. Cause if I had a real job, I would probably sleep at night. Who needs sleep?
Since September 4, 2012, I have spent a little under 2100 hours in the studio. Choreographed over 55 numbers. An average 2 minute dance takes about 2-4 hours to choreograph. Have spent about 40 hours just cutting music. Spent close to 150 hours researching costumes and ordering them. About the same amount of that time was spent creating a schedule that works best for everyone.
I am sure glad I never got that real job… WHEW! On a serious note… Do I still feel the same?
Yes! I do… Cause I do this for them… My Dancers! Who give a little bit of themselves to me for 2 hours a week. Who ll my heart with so much joy, when I see a school teacher who says… My Kinder class does nothing but talk about your dance class… when I read the report that a parent shares with me, cause there daughter did a report on who their Hero was… and it was me… Or that parent who never danced before calls and says, my daughter is getting married and I can’t dance… Can you help me?
I have learned fast that I will not make everyone happy. Dance is not for everyone and everyone is not for every studio. I started my studio with the goal to instill positive thinking, and this is what I will continue to teach my dancers. Next year, the studio will be taking a break from competing so we can concentrate on celebrating our 5th year with our dancers. To instill that dance is not all about perfection and it is for anyone who wants to do it. From the beginner to the mom who has dreamed about dancing on stage. I will continue to restore the posi-tivity and fun dance can bring with in the studio.
Cause I believe you should always believe in yourself, follow your dreams, you may have a few roads that detour… but it will all be worth the trip. ank you all for believing in TDS.
