It is based on what the Scriptures say, as we read in 1 Corinthians 15.1-4: “the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, … by which also you are saved, … how that Christ died for our sins ; and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day ”. These Old Testament scriptures promised that a Saviour would come. The New Testament shows how that promise was fulfilled as described in the four Gospels written by Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. They record with great care different aspects of the birth and life, the service and teaching, the death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one great Gospel message is based upon what is recorded in these four Gospels. This message is so important, that we should spend some time trying to learn more about it. This will help us to enjoy it all the more ourselves. It will also help us to tell it to others, and help us to defend it from attack. There are many enemies of the Gospel, and many false gospels which confuse people. In addition, it will lead us to worship and praise God even more as we understand more of what He has done. The Gospel is the message ever made known in this world because it comes from God – the greatest authority in the universe; because it comes to us – everyone of us everywhere, the greatest number of people; because it is about the Lord Jesus Christ - the greatest Person ever; because it promises so much for those who believe it – the greatest of present and eternal blessings. But for those who reject or neglect it the consequences are great and very solemn and sad. It is a message so that a child can receive it and benefit from it. But it is also so that those who know it best are always amazed at how deep and how wonderful it is. It is not a complicated and difficult message to understand, but its blessings are so many and so great that they will be known fully only when we get to heaven. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begottenSon, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but

have everlasting life.(John 3:16)

Although it’s the most impor-tant issue you’ll ever have toconsider, it’s also the most

straightforward – God planned itthat way: “

”(Isaiah 35:8 )

. (Romans 3:23)Although we don’t like to admit

it, we all know that we fall far shortof what we ought to be. Try as wemight, we disappoint ourselves andhurt those around us with the thingswe say and do. God tells us in HisWord, the Bible, that the reason forthis is that our human nature is fall-en, resisting God and His righteous-ness but responding to the evilinfluence of Satan and our own sinfuldesires: “

.” (Eph 2:1-3)More importantly, we fall short of

God’s holy standard! There are noexceptions to the problem of sin, noris there any security in numbers - thefact that we are all alike will be nodefence in His courtroom!

. (Numbers 32:23)Found out! There will be no es-

caping God’s justice - all your sinwill one day be uncovered! The res-urrection of Jesus Christ from thedead not only guarantees eternalsalvation for all who trust in Him,but also guarantees the final judg-ment of all who refuse Him. Thesame power which raised Christfrom the dead and which savesthose who believe on Him, will en-sure that none escape justice, as St.Paul said, “

.” (Acts 17:31)The Bible says that if you refuse

Christ as your loving Saviour youwill face Him as your righteousJudge! “Judgment” means eternalimprisonment and suffering in theLake of Fire – the second death!(Rev 21:8)

So, your really big problem isthat it’s not what you or othersthink about you that matters, butwhat God thinks, for He will beyour judge, yet we already knowthat He says we are sinners and fallshort of His holy standard! Howwill you stand before God in yoursin?

(1Corinthians 15:3)The Gospel tells us that out of

immeasurable love for us, His crea-tures, God came in the person ofJesus Christ to rescue us from thescourge of sin. In order to do so hebore the punishment our sins de-serve by suffering and dying a sac-rificial death upon the cross atCalvary. To all who desire to beforgiven and delivered from thecontrolling power of sin over theirlives he promises the peace and joyof new life with Him: “

” (2Corinthians 5:17-18)The Bible states plainly that

there is no other way for you to besaved from sin – only by personalfaith in the Lord Jesus Christ: “

.” (Acts 4:12)This is the most direct and

important message you will everhear! Repent (confess your uttersinfulness and turn to God forforgiveness) and believe on theLord Jesus Christ today. Rich inmercy, He is ready to forgive!Refuse, and you will bear theconsequences eternally.
