1. General information Thetemperaturetransmitterdescribedintheoperatinginstruc-tionshasbeendesignedandmanufacturedusingstate-of-the-arttechnology.Allcomponentsaresubjecttostringentqualityandenvironmentalcriteriaduringproduction.OurmanagementsystemsarecertifiedtoISO9001andISO14001.
Theseoperatinginstructionscontainimportantinformationonhandlingthetemperaturetransmitter.Workingsafelyrequiresthatallsafetyinstructionsandworkinstructionsareobserved.
Observethelocalaccidentpreventionregulationsandgeneralsafetyregulations,ineffectforthetemperaturetransmittersrangeofuse.
Theoperatinginstructionsarepartoftheinstrumentandmustbekeptintheimmediatevicinityofthetemperaturetransmitterandreadilyaccessibletoskilledpersonnelatanytime.
Skilledpersonnelmusthavecarefullyreadandunderstoodtheoperatinginstructions,priortobeginninganywork.

WARNING!ThisisProtectionClass3equipmentforconnectionatlowvoltages,whichareseparatedfromthepowersupplyorvoltagebygreaterthan50VACor120VDC.Preferably,aconnectiontoanSELVorPELVcircuitisrecommended;alternativelyprotectivemeasuresfromHD60346-4-41(DINVDE0100-410).AlternativelyforNorthAmerica:Theconnectioncanbemadeinlinewith"Class2Circuits"or"Class2PowerUnits"inaccordancewithCEC(CanadianElectricalCode)orNEC(NationalElectricalCode)

2.1 Intended useTheModelT32.10/30temperaturetransmitterisauniversal,configurabletransmitterforusewithresistancethermometers(RTD),thermocouples(TC)aswellasresistanceandvoltagesources.
Thetemperaturetransmitterhasbeendesignedandbuiltsolelyfortheintendedusedescribedhere,andmayonlybeusedaccordingly.

Thetechnicalspecificationscontainedintheseoperatinginstructionsmustbeobserved.Shouldtheinstrumentbeimproperlyhandledoroperatedoutsideofitstechnicalspecifications,itshouldbeshutdownimmediatelyandinspectedbyanauthorisedWIKAserviceengineer.
Ifthetemperaturetransmitteristransportedfromacoldintoawarmenvironment,theformationofcondensationmayresultintheinstru-mentmalfunctioning.Beforeputtingitbackintooperation,waitfortheinstrumenttemperatureandtheroomtemperaturetoequalise.
Themanufacturershallnotbeliableforclaimsofanytypebasedonoperationcontrarytotheintendeduse.
2.2 Personnel qualification
WARNING!Risk of injury should qualification be insufficient!Improperhandlingcanresultinconsiderableinjurytopersonnelanddamagetoequipment. TheModelT32.10temperaturetransmittershouldonlybeusedwithgroundedthermometers!Theconnectionofaresistancethermometer(e.g.Pt100)totheT32.30mustbemadewithshieldedcable.Theshieldmustbeelectricallyconnectedwiththehousingofthegroundedthermometer.
TheconnectionofathermocouplesensortotheT32.10mustbemadewithascreenedcable.Theshieldmustbeelectricallyconnectedwiththehousingofthegroundedthermometerand,additionally,groundedtothesideoftheT32.10.Itshouldbeensuredthatthereisequipoten-tialbondingoninstallation,sothatnobalancingcurrentcanflowviatheshield.Here,inparticular,theinstallationregulationsforhazardousareasshouldbefollowed!
