Lead Coach – Steven Fathers LTA PCA Steven is one of the senior coaches based at Bolton Arena tennis academy and has been for 13 years. During that

time, Steven has captained GB junior teams and coached many International junior ITF and Tennis Europe

winners. Last year his players won 7 U14 TE titles.

Program Director – Suzi Riley Suzi has developed the academy into one of the leading performance programmes in the country, attaining

International High Performance Status. She has a Bachelor of Commerce and played NCAA Division 1 college

tennis in the USA on a full athletic scholarship. Suzi also coached in Australia where she set up her own coaching

academy while coaching girls on the WTA tour ranked as high at 106 in the world. Suzi specialises in leading

performance programmes and coaching juniors making the transition from international junior tennis onto the

professional women’s tour.

Head of Strength and Conditioning – Howard Green. Howard is Head of Strength & Conditioning and is an accredited S&C coach with the UKSCA. Howard has been

preparing players physically to compete at ATP Challenger, ITF Futures, Junior ITF, Tennis Europe and national

competitions. During 2016 Howard has been Ana Ivanovic’s S+C coach and travelled the world with her to many of

the Grand Slams and WTA events. Player’s sessions are tennis specific taking into account the physical qualities

required to play at a high level and reduce their risk of injury. Regular consultation with tennis coaches and

observation of player’s technical sessions ensure that the strength and conditioning sessions completed off-

court, specifically address and improves player’s performance on-court. Previous to coaching, Howard served for

6 years in the Royal Marines Commandos.
