This year’s Management Meeting will feature a new approach to idea sharing where venues can promote innovative strategies or processes that have been implemented in their facility. The SMG Shark Tank: The Next Big Idea will give all our venues the chance to pitch an idea that has made an impact on their business, whether that idea is focused on improving sales/revenues, bottom line, customer service or building operation. The idea can be on any scale and in any area of your business — the only stipulation is that it has a measurable outcome, and can be used at other SMG venues. The goal of this competition is to find the Next Big Idea that can be implemented across any or all of SMG’s other facilities.

Zamboni ‘Ice Resurfacer Operation’ Presentation Reminder

2017 SMG Shark Tank Competition

All operators of the Zamboni ice resurfacing machine should review the video presentation "Ice Resurfacer Operation” on an annual basis. Use the receipt of the safety mailing you recently received as a reminder to make sure your team has access to and watches this important video.

If you need to order a replacement copy of the digital service manual and / or the Ice Resurfacer Operation and Conditioner Maintenance DVDs for your facility, contact your Zamboni Authorized Distributor and be sure to have your machine model / serial number available, or just register online. If you have not already registered online, please take a moment to provide Zamboni with the current information regarding your machine(s).

April Safety Topic: Global Harmonized Systems

(GHS)

The new hazard communicat ion s tandard s t i l l requ i res chemica l manufacturers and importers to evaluate the chemicals they produce or import and provide hazard information to employers and workers by putting labels on containers and preparing safety data sheets. However, the old standard allowed chemical manufacturers and importers to convey hazard information on labels and material safety data sheets in whatever format they chose. The modified standard provides a single set of harmonized criteria for classifying chemicals according to their health and physical hazards and specifies hazard communication elements for labeling and safety data sheets.
