ST. MARY’S MISSION STATEMENT As disciples of Jesus, we commit ourselves to

commission given to us at Baptism and reaffirmed in
the sacraments of initiation and service. By

PARISH INFORMATION
SACRAMENTS
Baptism Required classes for parents and sponsors are
held at 9 a.m. on the second Saturday of odd
numbered months and in Spanish at 7 p.m. on
the last Tuesday of odd numbered months.
Marriage Preparations must be made with the liturgist
at least 6 months in advance. The marriage
date is confirmed after preparations are
completed. No weddings are scheduled
during Advent or Lent.
Reconciliation Saturday 4-5 p.m. at St. Mary’s, 5:30 – 6 p.m.
Wednesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe or by
appointment.
Communion Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist are
available to bring Holy Communion to the
sick and elderly of the parish.
Holy Anointing Do not hesitate to call the priest in case of serious
illness or injury. Call 830-997-9523.
ST. MARY'S CEMETERY Parishioners and family members seeking information about our cemetery are invited to come by the parish office during normal business hours. Here a careful review may be made of all the burial options available while allowing time for a thoughtful decision.

'In this life beauty is passing. The flower in spring, the moment in a musical phrase, the person who truly sees you. They are beautiful because they will soon be gone yet awake a memory of what I truly desired all along. The fragile nature of these beautiful mo-ments I must say, is connected to us knowing con-sciously or subconsciously that they are fleeting, al-lowing us to briefly connect and quench the unknown longings within us, if only for a moment.
In programming this recital I went with the idea of the miniature, because through the brief few minutes of each piece we pass through different stories in sound, and experience the ‘hinges’ between chapters in close proximity. Like a rock album, the pieces are hung to-gether under an arch. I do believe Bach would have smiled at hearing his little organ choral between the French works of Debussy and Faure.'
7 Steps to Becoming Fi-nancially Free is a Catho-lic small group study that helps participants develop a closer relationship with the Lord, manage money more effectively, break free from debt, and plan for the future with the help of their Catholic faith. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR SUNDAY HOMEBOUND
MINISTRY
The Sunday Homebound Eucharistic Ministry is in need of 4 volunteers who
are willing to dedicate one Sunday each month to bring Holy Communion to a list of homebound parish-ioners; the Ministry is also in need of 2 volunteers that are willing to serve in this capacity only in months with a 5
th Sunday. Training will be provided for those who
feel called to become a part of this important Ministry and anyone who would like to observe the visits made on Sunday mornings after the 7:30 AM Holy Mass be-fore making a decision to join us is welcome to call the coordinator, Marilyn Tatsch, at 830-997-8164 to set a date to observe. Please prayerfully consider this op-portunity to serve our homebound neighbors.

Faith Formation
We invite the children of our parish to join us each fourth Saturday of the Month at 12:30 p.m. in the Main Church for our Children’s Rosary! Our next date is June
23. It is an opportunity for the children of our parish to come together & offer this most sacred devotion in honor of Our Lady, and unite their prayers with Holy Mother Church! CORPUS CHRISTI PROCESSION A special THANK YOU to all of you who
worked so hard to make our Corpus Christi procession
so reverent and meaningful! It was a beautiful experi-
ence for all who participated, and we hope that more

as a community our faith and love for Jesus Christ
truly present in the Blessed Sacrament! St. Mary's LifeTeen Youth Group mission trip to San Miguel de la paz Jalisco leaves June 26 - July 1, 2018. Father Jean Baptiste is accompany-ing us on this amazing journey, along with Sara and Curtis Allercamp from Mision De Candelilla and Father Enda. We will be putting a roof on a medical clinic, teaching Vacation Bible School to the local children as well as celebrating daily mass.
In order to raise money to pay for the materials, have had several fundraisers including a bake sale, a cowboy breakfast, this weekends car wash & one more bake sale on June 24th after all the masses. Any outside donations are still wel-comed. Please help support these amazing young adults in doing God’s Work!

2018 Archbishop’s Appeal Prayer In the Spirit of Love
Loving God, As missionary disciples, we are sent to
bring the Good News of Jesus to everyone in the
Archdiocese of San Antonio. Strengthen our faith,
deepen our hope, and help us to respond in love
for others through the Archbishop’s Appeal minis-
try. We are very grateful for the many gifts and
blessings we have received. May your Holy Spirit
inspire us to share a portion of these gifts and bless-
ings with those who need our help through the
2018 Archbishop’s Appeal. Fill our hearts with
your truth and enduring love so that, united as a
community of faith, we may show through our ac-
tions that we truly are disciples In the Spirit of

Upon The Water Spiritual Direction program. Spiritual di-
rection is in the history of our church; Scripture tells of ma-
ture leaders guiding younger believers. The Catechism: “The
Holy Spirit gives to certain of the faithful the gifts of wisdom,
faith and discernment for the sake of this common good
which is prayer (spiritual direction).” (#2690) For more in-

Everyday Stewardship
I have coached all three of my children in soccer at some time in their lives. I loved teaching them and their team-mates the importance of functioning as one unit. If we were not all moving together toward victory, we would all find our-selves together in defeat. We used to go through one drill I called the "human foosball." We would scrimmage with players in lines like on a foosball table. If you ever got too far behind or too far ahead of those in your line, play would stop and the ball would go to the other team. The goal was to help build an awareness of where your teammates were on the pitch and to teach the lesson that no one player is a team onto themselves.
As disciples and stewards, we sometimes find ourselves far behind or maybe even too far ahead. As a consequence, our actions either hinder the ability of the Body of Christ to evangelize and pass on the faith to a new generation or present the Church as an entity that sees itself as judg-mental or too holy to be in the world. We are called to com-munity, and in that community, we must be aware of our brothers and sisters in the faith. At times, we need to help them grow in their faith. Other times, we need to slow down and realize that we cannot change the world on our own. We all have unique gifts we are called to share, and we can only bear true witness to the power of the Body of Christ when we are all moving together and making each other strong.
