READINGS FOR THIS COMING SUNDAY FIRST READING: 2 Samuel 12:7-10,13 (93C) David sinned against the Lord, but Nathan answered him: “The Lord on His part has forgiven your sin: you shall not die.” RESPONSORIAL PSALM: 32:1-2,5,7,11 Lord, forgive the wrong I have done. SECOND READING: Galatians 2:16,19-21 Paul preached to the Galatians “I have been crucified with Christ; yet I live, no longer I, but Christ lives in me.” GOSPEL: Luke 7:36-8:3 or 7:36-50 Jesus said to Simon the Pharisee of the woman who washed and anointed His feet, “I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven because she has shown great love.” Please remember Teddy & Becky Speeler, David DeSantis, Lorna Shaw, Michael M. Roiger, Frances Sheldon, and Mary Ann Most and the residents of the Lutheran Home as well as the residents of Mary, Queen & Mother Nursing Home.

“God sends us children with disabilities to help us grow, to remind us that every soul is of greater importance than its frail body, and to teach us how man’s highest calling is found in his God-like possibility of sharing unconditional love.” (Rev. Tad Pacholczyk, The Southern Cross, October, 2012) The annual Men’s Breakfast will be served by the ladies of the parish on Saturday, June 15th, following the 8:00 a.m. Mass. This is our yearly tribute to fathers, grandfathers, brothers, uncles and male friends in the parish. All men are invited and welcome to attend. A sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board in the vestibule. Congratulations to Reagan Isabella Heine upon her reception of the Sacrament of Baptism. Through the waters of baptism you have become a beloved child of God and now you live this sacrament by living Christ. We are blessed as a parish to have this new member of our family. You can be assured of our prayers and loving support as you live your faith.

READINGS FOR THE WEEK JUNE 9—JUNE 16, 2013

Sunday: 1 Kgs 17:17-24 Ps 30:2,4-6,11-13 Gal 1:11-19 Lk 7:11-17 Monday: 2 Cor 1:1-7 Mt 5:1-12 Tuesday: Acts 11:21b-26 Mt 5:13-16 Wednesday: 2 Cor 3:4-11 Mt 5:17-19 Thursday: 2 Cor 3:15-4:1,3-6 Mt 5:20-26 Friday: 2 Cor 4:7-15 Mt 5:27-32 Saturday: 2 Cor 5:14-21 Mt 5:33-37 Sunday: 2 Sm 12:7-10,13 Ps 32:1-2,5,7,11 Gal 2:16,19-21 Lk 7:36-8:3 or 7:36-50

“And when the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, “Do not weep.” LUKE 7:13 This verse is a great reminder that the Stewardship lifestyle if one of service, putting God first and to “love one another.” Unfortunately today, many people have “passion” for activities they enjoy—their job and off-work activities. Many times our “passion” to excel is at the expense of someone else. Maybe we need to focus on a little less passion for our individual con-cerns and a lot more compassion for others.

The first task of the evangelizing Christian must be a commitment to deepen his relationship with God, to respond to his internal promptings, al-ways seeking holiness and personal conversion.

We must decrease, so that He might increase. Only then can we be radiant beacons of the earth.
