Terabit 2.5’’ military SATAIII SSD has standard 22PINinterfaces, fully conform to the samemechanical andmounting requirements as standardrotatingdiskdrives.ThisseriesofproductsaredesignedforpremiumMilitaryapplicationsthat require both strong reliability and high capacity such as Rugged Computer, SystemIntegration, Server, Embedded Systems, Workstations, RAID and Defense. With up to1024GBcapacityonNANDMLCFlashand512GBonSLCFlash,Terabit2.5’’militarySATAIIISSD totally goes through a variety of proofing tests such as Shock Test, Vibration Test,Burn-in Test and Twisting Test. OverProvisioningreferstotheinclusionofextraNANDcapacityinaSSD,whichisnotvisible

andcannotbeusedbyusers.WithOverProvisioning,theperformanceandIOPS(Input

/OutputOperationsperSecond)areimprovedbyprovidingthecontrolleradditionalspace

tomanageP/Ecycles,whichenhancesthereliabilityandenduranceaswell.Moreover,the

writeamplificationoftheSSDbecomeslowerwhenthecontrollerwritesdatatotheflash.

7.4Bad-blockManagementTerabitimplementsanefficientbadblockmanagementalgorithmintotheSSDtodetectfactoryproducedbadblocksaswellasthosethatdevelopoverthelifetimeofthedevice.ThisprocessiscompletelytransparenttotheuserthroughtheuseofS.M.A.R.T.commandtools,i.e.,theuserwillnotbeawareoftheexistenceofthebadblocksduringoperation.7.5S.M.A.R.TFunctionS.M.A.R.T stands for Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology. This technologyenables the PC to predict the future failure of hard disk drives. Through the S.M.A.R.T.system,Terabit2.5’’militarySATAIIISSD incorporatesasuiteofadvanceddiagnostics thatmonitortheinternaloperationofthedriveandprovideanearlywarningformanytypesofpotential problems. When a potential problem is detected, the SSD can be repaired orreplacedbeforeanydataislostordamaged.
