Term 3 Week 9 6th September 2021 Fathers Day Drive Thru Breakfast We hope that our families enjoyed the delicious bacon and egg rolls and fruit juice provided for free last Friday to celebrate Fathers Day. Thank you to those families who shared photos of dad and kid/senjoying breakfast together. Knowing that our efforts were appreciated and put smiles on faces in our school community makes our efforts all worthwhile. And what an effort it was with 224 bacon and eggs rolls cooked, assembled, wrapped, and delivered in 1 hour. What a massive effort from our teachers, and all in a Covid safe way! Thank you to our P&C who supplied the eggs, bacon and drinks and to Dale Northam who donated the bread rolls. Your generosity and support is greatly appreciated. School Improvements While our students have been away some building works have taken place to keep our school connually improving. In the past weeks our new water refill staon has been installed outside the hall. This is a filtered water bole re-filler and an extra bubbler for our students. With summer just around the corner, it will make refilling drink boles much easier. We thank the Fresh Hope Church (who use our school hall on weekends) who donated the refill staon to or school. New shade sails have also been installed over the climbing/balancing playground area. Now we will have a safer, shaded play area to enjoy every day.

Father’s Day Drive Thru Breakfast

We hope that our families enjoyed the delicious bacon and egg rolls and fruit juice provided for free last Friday to celebrate Father’s Day.

Thank you to those families who shared photos of ‘dad and kid/s’ enjoying breakfast together.

School Improvements

While our students have been away some building works have taken place to keep our school continually improving. In the past weeks our new water refill station has been installed outside the hall. This is a filtered water bottle re-filler and an extra bubbler for our students. With summer just around the corner, it will make refilling drink bottles much easier.

We thank the Fresh Hope Church (who use our school hall on weekends) who donated the refill station to or school.

New shade sails have also been installed over the climbing/balancing playground area. Now we will have a safer, shaded play area to enjoy every day.

Transition News

Hi there from the very quiet Transition room! (I only have "Wiggerly Woo" to keep me company at the moment!)

Last Thursday 8 of us enjoyed a get-together on Zoom, which put a lot of smiles on faces. We read "Caps for Sale" which had cheeky monkeys in it, so that's our theme for the Home package this week. We will do another Zoom catch-up again this Thursday

the 9th at 1:30pm. (Ring the school on Thursday

morning if you have lost your email link). Thankyou for

doing your paper, outside and craft activities. You can

send pictures to SeeSaw from the email invite to show

Ms Hahn.

School Operations / Return to School Date

Newling is still operating at Level 4 restrictions this week, with learning to be completed at home.

The new learning packs were distributed this morning and further work is available if needed by contacting teachers.

If you have not collected materials, please call the office on 6772 1488 to arrange collection.

If you are home or working from home, and your child is able to be educated from home, please keep them at home. There will be minimal supervision on site at our school for those students who cannot be educated at home, for example if their parent or carer is an authorised or essential worker and needs to go to work.

At this point an official return date for our school is not known. The current stay-at-home orders for the Armidale LGA exists until 10th September. If our LGA moves out of stay-at-home restrictions, all students will be able to return to school under Level 3 restrictions.

We await the government’s announcement later this week.

Murray Cox

Principal

it’s what you see.”

3/4 News This week 3/4 completed a circle art competition. They were challenged to turn a page of circles into interesting, colourful and creative pieces of art. We were inundated with entries and we were so impressed with the standard! Well done 3/4!

We are proud to announce our winner of the circle competition is Andrew.

Check out his winning design and some of the other entries below.

1/2 News Our students have been busy and with their learning at home. Thank you for sharing photos with your teachers. We miss you very much and can’t wait to see your smiling faces again.

5/6 News Hi there 5/6 families!!

We know that this time is hard on everyone- including mums and dads who are trying to get you to do your work!!!!

We are so proud of everyone that has been giving home learning a go.

We still want you to be giving everything your best but remember that we expect you to be doing just that- having your best go.

Please do not take it out on your parents if something is tripping you up- call us, message us or jump on zoom- we will help!!!

Please return your booklets when you collect your new ones and we can give you feedback and mark your attendance. You have done so very well- it starts to get harder in these last weeks, we know but stick with it!

Kindergarten News Over the last week we have had to celebrate Father’s Day with a difference. We sincerely hope that all the families in Kindergarten had an amazing day.

Our students and their families have been working in an amazing way to keep on track with learning booklets and tasks.

We want to acknowledge all of the work big and small.

Well Done!
