Vision

The Academy of Business and Finance at Woodlawn Magnet High School seeks to develop world conscious business leaders that will be advocates of social change to create innovative ideas that will inspire humanity.

Woodlawn Magnet High School HAS A PROVEN RECORD OF HELPING STUDENTS SUCCEED AS FUTURE BUSINESS LEADERSThe Woodlawn community has thrived for

nearly 90 years. According to early history of the area, Woodlawn was founded by Mr. O. M. Wood and it wasn’t long before Woodlawn was a growing high school surrounded by a thriving business district. Today the school is a staple in the community and a primary reason why several businesses are located in the area. A variety of businesses such as banks, doctors’ offices, churches, and merchants of all kinds are located within walking distance from the school. Therefore, Woodlawn is well suited to be designated as the Academy of Business Academy.

With this plethora of community businesses, including a national airport and other industries located nearby, students have firsthand knowledge and resources related to the world of business. Our close proximity to downtown and area shopping centers provide greater opportunities for our students to obtain employment during their high school years. Our academy graduates are prepared to continue college level coursework, and obtain employment as bookkeepers, customer service representatives, payroll clerks, bank tellers, account clerks, credit analysts, financial product representatives, and insurance.
