Q: Why should I apply to an AMIGO?

A: You will get the opportunity to interact with new students and their families, work as a part of a

team, and become instantly recognizable by an entire class of incoming students. Also, employers are

looking for college graduates with customer service, communication, and leadership skills. You gain all

three by being an AMIGO.

Q: How much time does it take to be an AMIGO?

A: AMIGOs train 2.5 hours a week during the spring semester on Wednesday afternoons from 2- 4:30

p.m. They also attend a weekend retreat and four one-day orientation sessions during the spring as well.

During the summer, AMIGOs are required to work three weekends (Thursday- Saturday) of orientation

sessions.

Q: What kinds of things are AMIGOs required to do?

A: AMIGOs facilitate small group sessions with new students about getting involved, services available to

students, academic advising, and making the transition to college. AMIGOs also assist faculty members
