Brunsville, Iowa Edition 117 September 2020 The Brunsville Blitz Follow the tree pile rules Please remember the tree pile is for trees and lawn and garden waste only. Numerous items like furniture, concrete and just plain garbage have been fished out of the pile. We don’t want the state DNR to take away the convenience of having a place to discard approved items. If the convenience is taken away, residents will need to take items to the landfill and pay to have them disposed of. Please use the south side of the pile because we are running out of room on the north side to be able to push the pile up. Any help with this would be appreciated. Complete the census questionnaire The Iowa U.S. Census Complete Count Committee encourages all citizens of Brunsville and the surrounding area to complete their 2020 census questionnaire. Recently Balltown, Iowa was the first city in the state to reach a 100% response rate and only the second in the nation to do so. The committee estimates there are 18 households yet to self- respond. They are encouraging constituents to respond on the website my2020ensus.gov. The census helps the state and its communities with numerous programs and initiatives. Brunsville, Iowa Edition 117 September 2020

The Brunsville Blitz

Follow the tree pile rules Please remember the tree pile is for trees and lawn and

garden waste only. Numerous items like furniture, concrete

and just plain garbage have been fished out of the

pile. We don’t want the state DNR to take away the

convenience of having a place to discard approved

items. If the convenience is taken away, residents will need

to take items to the landfill and pay to have them disposed

of. Please use the south side of the pile because we are

running out of room on the north side to be able to push

the pile up. Any help with this would be appreciated.

Complete the census questionnaire

The Iowa U.S. Census Complete Count Committee

encourages all citizens of Brunsville and the surrounding area

to complete their 2020 census questionnaire. Recently

Balltown, Iowa was the first city in the state to reach a 100%

response rate and only the second in the nation to do so.

The committee estimates there are 18 households yet to self-

respond. They are encouraging constituents to respond on

the website my2020ensus.gov. The census helps the state

and its communities with numerous programs and initiatives.

A bright future for Brunsville

If the people of Brunsville will continue to work

toward the day when their dreams can be

fulfilled, the future will indeed be a bright one

for them. Some people say that the small town

is through, that it will soon dry up and blow

away. That statement may be true as a rule,

but there are always exceptions to the rule.

Brunsville has always been an exception as it

never was blessed with any of the natural aids

to growth and prosperity. Its greatest asset has

always been the great determination of its

residents not to give up. Those who would

criticize us for lack of progress, might consider

the odds.

Lonesome Jack says…

In horse-and-buggy days you didn’t have to keep one

hand on the wheel. The horse knew the way home. But

you had better be done with what you abe adoin’

afore the horse be gettin’ home.

You like sweet stuff? Yea? I like girls too.
