The Canadian Centre for Activity and Aging (CCAA) investigates the interrelationship of physical activity and aging, and develops strategies, based on research, to promote the independence of older adults.

THE PHILOSOPHY
Restorative Care should be a philosophy that is supported by the entire facility. This training program provides the tools and strategies for creating and maintaining a “restorative philosophy of care” in any facility.

• Problem solving and case studies for managing residents with various levels of self-eating potential

WHO SHOULD TAKE THE RCET?

WHAT IS RESTORATIVE
CARE? Restorative care strives to provide residents
in long-term care facilities with the best quality of life possible.
Restorative care personnel work with residents to promote the highest level of
functioning that the resident can attain. This may be achieved through walking, exercise,
dining programs or by fostering the potential of the resident by providing a goal-oriented approach to restorative care.
