As I venture deeper into the concept of mailart I discover areas that suddenly appeal to me even though I have been aware of theparticular theme for a while. Trashpo is collage that uses primarily the stuff that would ordinarily go in the garbage. I am rather fond ofAsian snack food - toasted seaweed, dried fish & nuts, various candies and whatnot. The packaging is bright and colourful and I suddenlydecided I wanted to play with the garbage. :)

Goodness knows what the Post Offices of the world think of the stuff artists send through the mail but one hopes they are amused. Amajority or it probably requires hand sorting as the automated systems usually require standard shapes so we are probably a make work

sub-system. You are welcome, Posties of the world! :)

I received a little two picture photocopy with added colour marker from my mailartfriend, Victor. A somewhat less than flattering portrait of Josef Stalin, I added some linework and decided I needed to play with the concept a some more. Fitting nicely on alegal sized sheet Joe got a little more makeover.

Two final pieces from Victor. On the left one, Victor did the crayon work. I did the ink, marker and collage pieces. The one on the right Icut out the graphics from the original sheet and attached them to a new sheet with some modifications and comments.
