After many years of faithful and dedicated service to the Cathedral Parish, Berry Mang will be retiring on Friday, February 14, 2020. We will have a celebration brunch to honor Berry on Sunday, February 23 after the 10:00 a.m. Mass at Bishop Howard Memorial Auditorium. RSVP’s are required. You can RSVP by contacting the parish office or by email at [email protected]. I know that you join the clergy and parish staff in wishing Berry a grace filled and blessed retirement.

Pancake Breakfast – The Knights of Columbus Pancake Breakfast is from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Sunday, February 16, 2020 in the cafeteria at Notre Dame Academy, 1699 Hilton Drive, Park Hills, KY. Proceeds benefit the Sisters of Notre Dame Uganda Mission. Admission is $6.00 for adults, and $4.00 for children.
Weekend Retreats – Sisters of Notre Dame-Women's Weekend Retreats March 6-8 and April 3-5, 2020. More Than One Way To Pray: $100.00 includes food, private room, all materials and sessions. Flu Season – Due to the threat to health, beginning next week, the distribution of the Precious Blood at Cathedral Masses is temporarily suspended. The sign of peace will continue as normal.
Viewing of the movie, Unplanned – A look inside the abortion industry from a woman who was once a passionate advocate. 7:00 p.m., Monday, February 10, 2020, St. Agnes Parish Murphy Hall, 1680 Dixie HWY, Fort Wright, KY. All are welcome. Due to the content, those under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult or have a note from their parent. Refreshments-no cost.
Scholarship Opportunity – The 2020 Wallace Woods Good Neighbor Scholarship is currently accepting applications. The $500 scholarship award is based on community service. It is open to Covington residents up to and including those 24 years of age, who will be attending an accredited post-secondary institution in 2020-2021. Bible Study – The next books of the Bible to be taught by Reverend Timothy Schehr are Chronicles, Ezra and Maccabees. The sessions will begin on Tuesday, March 3, at the Curia office building, in Bishop Howard Memorial Auditorium, 7:00 p.m. In Chronicles, David realizes his true spiritual potential. The Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption’s Saturday, 4:30 p.m. Vigil Mass is taped and broadcast at 5:00 p.m. every Sunday on: WLWT – Channel 5-2 ME-TV, Cincinnati Bell Fioptics – Channel 23 and 291; Spectrum – Northern KY channel 188; Spectrum – Hamilton County channel 993. ME-TV is an affiliate of NBC/WLWT. The airing covers the Diocese of Covington, the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, partially the Archdiocese of Indianapolis and the Diocese of Lexington.
Care of the Sick – If you know of a parishioner who is in the hospital or care center who would like a visit from the parish clergy please contact Sister Barbara Woeste at the Parish Office. Because of the privacy laws often times we do not receive a phone call from the institution. We rely on family or friends to let us know when someone is in the hospital.
Women's Retreat – February 28 to March 1, 2020 – Take Up Your Cross Jesus tells us that unless we are willing to take up our cross, we cannot be His follower. What does it mean to "take up our cross" and how does that help us follow Him? Join Monsignor Bill Cleves and Deacon Dave Profitt as they lead a Lenten Retreat on the meaning of the cross in our lives. The retreat will be held at St. Anne Retreat Center. Doors open on Friday at 4:00 p.m., the retreat begins at 5:30 p.m. with dinner, and concludes on Sunday after 11:00 a.m. Mass. The cost is $150.00, including lodging and meals. Registration deadline is February 14. Morning of Reflection – The Benedictine Sisters of St. Walburg Monastery invite you to join them at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, March 14, 2020, at St. Walburg Monastery's Lower Level for a presentation titled: Telling on Ourselves; Stories about Wells, Pools and Tombs (The Gospels of the Last Three Sundays of Lent), presented by Rev. An eight-week session of New Beginnings, a support group for divorced and separated persons, will begin March 12, 2020. Meetings will be held on Thursday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. through April 30, 2020. In this faith-based group, participants will find a new understanding of themselves and their relationships and gain the courage to discover a new life. This group is sponsored by the Diocese of Covington and hosted by the Office of Catechesis and Evangelization. Registration is required.
