Rendezvous with Schools’ Co-scholastic arena

FELICITATION FUNCTION – 2014

Amity International School, Sector – 46, Gurgaon felicitated its meritorious students and teachers on the 15th of July, 2014, celebrating their astounding success in the Board exams. The program commenced with the welcoming of the Chief guests for the occasion, the esteemed Chairperson of the school, Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan and Mr. TPS Chau-han. The Board results of 2014 spelt tremendous success for the students of Amity, with the number of meritorious stu-dents at an unprecedented high. The subject toppers and 90 percenters of Classes X and XII (CBSE) were honored by the respected Chairperson Ma’am who bestowed her blessings on them alongwith due acknowledgment to the teachers for their stupendous efforts. In tone with this presentation, the parents spoke to the gathering, sharing their views and experiences, emphasizing the pivotal role played by the school in shaping their ward’s success, thanking the teachers of the school for all the timely help and guidance they had provided. The day ended with an inspiring message by Principal of the school, Mrs. Arti Chopra, who congratulated the students on their achieve-ment .

Kudos to the Champions Amity International School, Sector 46, Gurgaon added another feather to its cap by winning the Overall Champion-ship Trophy in Expressions 2014, the competition which was organized by Army Public

School, Shankar Vihar, Gurgaon. Out of 10 events, students of AIS, Gurgaon participated in 6 events and won in 3 events. In Aqua Treasure Rendezvous (I and II), students won the first Prize. In World Tribal Art (IX to XII) team comprising five students was awarded the first prize. In another event, Ad Zap (X to XII) stu-dents bagged third prize. The school won the Overall Championship Trophy for their commendable endeavours.

CBSE Science Exhibition Our school AIS- 46 participated in the Regional Level Science Exhibition 2014-15 con-ducted by C.B.S.E held at D.A.V – Ballabhgarh ;Faridabad on 10th ,11th and 12th July . Our school participated in two sub-Themes Environment and Energy. In the Environment category two of our students from XI-Synchro Pooja Ghangus (XI) and Aanchal(XI)presented a model on ECOLOGICAL FOOTPRINTS which was selected for the National round . In the Energy category two of our students from class X. Vaishali Tikoo(X) and Prisha Singh (X) presented model of a Bus which runs on solar and wind energy.

Amity International School Sec-46 Gurgaon participated in the Literary Festival hosted by Blue Bells Public School, Gurgaon on July’18 where the students witnessed a plethora of events including a ‘One Act Play’ competition , in which our students came out with flying colours by bagging the Second prize under the ‘Best Play’ category and third prize for ‘Best Direction’. The brilliant performance of the Amitians won a huge applause from the judges and the audi-ence alike.

Amitians G-46 won accolades in the Second Edition Ryan MUN Conference on 17th and 18th July organized by Ryan International School .The Best delegate award was won by Vaishali Tikko - International criminal court representing Judge Geofrrey Hender-son .Aditya Tripathi got special mention – disarmament and international security repre-senting the Russian federation. Rudraksh Lakra got accolades – disarmament and interna-tional security representing Algeria.Shreyans Goyal was applauded – disarmament and

International security representing the Russian federation. The Executive Board was repre-sented by: Akashranjan as vice-chairperson - International criminal court Abhavya Roshan – Rapporteur – Emergency security ….. bagged special appreciation.

WALKING DOWN THE MEMORIES OF PUPPETS

Students witnessed a puppet show which sensitized them towards animals and being kind to them. It was a day for the young Amitians(Class III) to witness the imaginary world of puppets. The young brains were excited to see the Lion-King of the Jungle talking. The curious minds were eager to find out the trick of mov-ing puppets. It was refreshing to see little fingers en-tangled in strings in order to move puppets as per

Exploring the Child’s World

MAGIC SHOW An enthralling magic show was organised in Amity International School , Sector 46 he young Amitians. The magician performed various magic tricks and kept the children completely en-gaged. Children were mesmerized with the tricks the magician showcased particularly enjoyed the umbrella trick, wherein the magician picked volunteers from the class of students and magically interchanged individually coloured handkerchiefs with cloth used in an umbrella. Illusions and trickery portrayed by the magician captured the students’ interests and left them wonder the mysteries galore.

TRAFFIC AWARENESS CAMPAIGN Amitians from classes IX –XII attended a workshop addressed by Mr. Chaitanya Kansal, Youth Ambassador of Gurgaon Police upon various traffic rules and re-sponsibilities. The students were made aware of various life skills revolving around traffic regulations and were given a comprehensive account covering all aspects which must be known by the youth of the country such as licenses rule, procedure, road regulations and respective fines for violations. Students were also briefed upon crisis situations and appropriate actions that need to be taken in situations like accidents, false licenses, road rage, corrupt officers etc.

Vasudha – New learning experiences To inculcate the spirit of inquiry and build up scientific temperament among the students, Amity International School, Sec-46 , Gurgaon organized Vasudha, 2014- a Science Exhibition on July 19, 2014, on theme ‘Weather and Climate’. Each section was given varied sub theme such as Climatic Zones, Methods of predicting weather, Water Cycle, Seasons, Climatic conditions, Global warming and weather phenomenon to name a few. The children were highly motivated by the overwhelming response of the parents who ap-preciated the scientific temperament shown by the students.

Heritage Month—Madhya Pradesh A Worksheet on the topic Art & Culture, Architecture/Monuments and Famous Personalities of Madhya Pradesh was given to the students and were made to read and discuss. Pot Luck Party was organized in all the primary classes wherein children shared the cuisine of Madhya Pradesh

brought from home amongst themselves. Colorful and informative PPTs of famous monuments and personalities, videos were shown to the students.A Quiz was conducted on the same in the classroom. Children colored the Illus-tration on MP related to Hand Shadow Puppet of Madhya Pradesh. Dhokra Art of MP state was done . ‘Malwa Dance’ was taught to the students by respective dance teachers along with revision of previously taught

ones.Playing style of ‘Shehnai ’ & ‘Pungi’ was taught to students by instrumental music teachers. Heritage Club members were applauded for their efforts.
