Sacrament of Baptism The sacrament of Baptism is ordinarily celebrated the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month at 1:15p.m. We emphasize sacramental preparation consisting of a four part Parish Baptism Process, in which the infant is always present. To schedule Baptism, please call the church office, at least one month in advance.

Letters of Recommendation Letters of Recommendation to act as sponsors will be issued only to parishioners who attend Mass regularly, are confirmed and if married, are married in the Church. To help us make this judgment, we expect you to be registered with us for 3 months. Weekly use of envelopes (with or without a contribution) also helps. To arrange for Letters of Recommendation or Baptismal certificates, please call the parish office during office hours.

A Call to Prayer On Wednesday, August 26th at 10:30, there will be a Call to Prayer for all sick children, both in our parish and everywhere, especially for the chronically and terminally ill. Now is the time to come together

in support of these most precious gifts. In lifting them up to prayer, we will demonstrate our faith with confidence in our God for their deliverance from pain and suffering, commending their lives into the caring hands of our Most Loving Father. A Rosary will be offered for them as we seek His intercession for these most innocent victims.

Our three biggest fundraising events are approaching quickly. On September 19th we will be at the Brick Reservoir for the Walk for the Poor. Then on October 4th we will be hosting our annual clothing drive at the Parish Hall. More details will be included on a flyer in upcoming bulletins. Lord, May this candle be a light for You to enlighten me in my difficulties and decisions. May it be a fire for You to burn out of me all pride, selfishness and impurity. May it be a flame for You to bring a warmth into my heart towards my family, my neighbors and all those who meet me. “FAITH TO MOVE MOUNTAINS”

As of our last tally we are approximately 84% of goal. When we exceed goal, we get the additional benefit of 70% instead of 30% of all monies over goal. We will receive this money twice a year, and it will be used to repave our parking lot, fund a Faith Formation program for our youth and adults, and go toward a Capitol improvement Fund for repairs and improvements to our Buildings and grounds.

We have received a few one-time contributions toward this campaign and are very grateful for them. Please consider a pledge or gift so that we can reach this goal. We need $70,960 to reach goal. WANTED: SENIOR YOUTH GROUP COORDINATORS.

We are need of 2 practicing adult Catholics who are vibrant, energetic, and willing to share their time and faith with our High School Youth Group. Our group currently meets twice a month for an hour and half during the months of September through May. Catholic perspective and discussions, community service, fund raising, and outings are part of our program. We are asking you to prayerfully consider sharing your faith with the youth of our parish. If you feel that you are being called to this catechetical ministry, let us know and we will provide support and training needed to prepare you for this ministry.

The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) is a process where you can experience the Catholic faith community. It is an opportunity for questions to be answered and for learning about the teachings and traditions of the Catholic Church. Are you: A person who has not been baptized and would like

to learn more about the Catholic faith, and become a Catholic

A Baptized Christian of another denomination who would like to learn about and join the Catholic tradition?

A baptized Roman Catholic who has not received Eucharist or Confirmation and would like to become a full participant in the life of the Church?

The Christian Initiation process offers an environment of support and guidance as you discover God is working in your life. Through RCIA, the Epiphany parish community can help you fulfill this faith journey. Evening Bible Study Studying God’s Word in Scripture helps you get to know God better and to grow in holiness. Through the power of the Holy Spirit you come closer to God the Father and Jesus. Our evening Bible study group will resume Monday, September 14 in the All Purpose Room. We will be continuing our study of The Acts of the Apostles through the Catholic Scripture Study International. If you did not participate in the previous session, you can still join us for this session. This program is designed for beginners a well as those who have read the Bible for many years. It consists of written commentary by Steve Ray, discussion questions, and a DVD teaching by Fr. Patrick Winslow.

Our group will be meeting on Monday evenings from 7:15-8:45 for 14 weeks – September 14 through November 23; January 4 through February 29, 2016. Registration forms are available in the parish office. Members who attended the last session do not need to re-register. Dear Friends, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who participated in this year's Feast. There was such a great buzz about the Feast and everyone seemed to be having a great time. Those who came to this year's Feast noticed a few changes and they were well received. Other changes were not as obvious. A great deal of effort was put forth to make the Feast successful. There is always a risk when you single out some people to give special thanks to them. Some people may be offended they weren't included, some would prefer not to be named and there is the real possibility that I will forget someone. It is important, however, to acknowledge the great work, long hours and selfless efforts of those involved. So first let me say thank you to all who volunteered to work in the arcade, staff the seafood shack, the candle station, parking cars, etc. Even that list is probably missing something. So many of our brothers and sisters gave their time in service to our parish and I am grateful to you all. On the last day of the Feast we took time out to say a special thank you to Joe Mignone. Joe's health made it impossible for him to run the show as he has done so well for us in the past. He was missed and we continue to pray for his recovery and good health. Stepping in to make sure everything ran as smoothly as possible were a number of people. I've been told more than once that I don't have to publicly thank them and that some would even prefer not to be thanked.

I feel, however, that we as a parish should know of all their hard work. Please join me, therefore, in thanking: John Crossio and Kim Lorentzen. Believe it or not we are already making plans for next year's Feast. The Feast will be from August 11-14th so save the dates and plan on joining us as the Feast continues to grow. Peace, Fr. Mike

Retreat For The Seriously Ill GENNESARET, a retreat designed to provide a spiritual and temporal oasis for men and women, suffering with a serious illness, will be held the weekend October 16, 17 and 18, 2015 at the Archdiocesan Retreat Center, located in Kearney, NJ.
