Selections from both Walt Disney’s original Fantasia (1940) and Disney Fantasia 2000 are performed, including the “Waltz of the Flowers” from Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice with Mickey Mouse, and Beethoven’s “Pastoral” Symphony—accompanied by mythical unicorns and winged horses.

In this special holiday concert, the Vienna Boys Choir presents a musical evening of Christmas spirit, performing everything from Gregorian chant and traditional Christmas carols to popular holiday favorites and songs from around the world. They have charmed audiences worldwide with their rapturous harmonies, purity of tone, and delightful repertoire—an enchanting evening for the entire family.

Originally conceived as a ballet, Symphonic Metamorphosis was withdrawn from the project by Hindemith when he learned that the costumes were to be designed by Salvador Dali, whose work he detested. Fortunately, Hindemith went on to compose this imaginative, colorful, and dramatic orchestral showpiece. Here, the work is paired with Beethoven’s first two symphonies.
