On the Horizon

Enjoy your weekend! From All of Us at The Cobb School, Montessori!

The Cobb School Thanks...

On behalf of The Cobb School, I would like to thank our Country Fair Chairs, Tracy Smith and Jen Lardner, along with all our booth leaders: Jo Marriott, Deidre von Pechmann, Hawk Jenkins, Heather Kaliden, Heidi Spilotros, Kristin Cork, An-

Banta and Chris Lyles for their AMAZING set-up and breakdown efforts as well as Grail Kearney for bringing her animals to share. Lastly, thank you to all the parents who took a shift, baked a treat and enjoyed the afternoon with us. The Coun-try Fair serves as such a fine example of the community spirit that exists at our school and each volunteer has helped to strengthen this spirit. I feel honored and privileged to work with all of you. I know that these events would not be possi-ble without all of your behind-the-scenes work. I hope that the smiles you received from the children made it well worth it. You all deserve a huge THANK YOU! Sincerely, Windy Jansen, Director of Development

Halloween in the YCC and Primary Children in the YCC and Primary do not dress up for Halloween at school because some children find typical Halloween costumes alarming. The children do, however, get to enjoy a parade by the Elementary children dressed as historical fig-ures. They love seeing their older peers walk through the rooms donning their historical out-fits. Primary teachers have also been decorating their classrooms with festive materials, such as pumpkins and gourds.
