Everyone agreed faith was a key ele- ment that was a necessary part of Covington Catholic. “Based on this reflection of Covington Catholic, informed by history as well as surveys and focus groups from a current perspective, key characteristics of the CovCath brand include: • Catholic Identity and Tradition: The cross is at the center of our mis- sion. It is same cross as the one included at the center of the school Seal, which will be carried forward as a key part of the overall brand representation. • Tradition is the foundation for the future: We reflect that foundation, with a modern update. Our logos and fonts have a classic, ‘clean’ and collegiate feel. • All Male: The logos are masculine, strong and bold, with a distinctness Staff that reflects and connects an individual spirit to the community. • Unity and Excellence: By driving consistency with a unified and seam- less collection of logos, we demonstrate honor and respect for the excel- lence of our school’s brand. • Colors: The primary colors are deep royal blue and white, with use of lighter blue and a silvery grey as an accent color. Different shades of blue have historically symbolized Mary. • Character: The athletic mascot is the Colonel. Colonnello means col- umn of soldiers, and reflects strength, leadership and collaboration.” There are several versions of the “C” Logo, the Academic Logo, the Athletic Logo, and the Colonel Logo. The Colonel Ambassadors, a vision of Mr. Rowe’s, began a couple of years ago to help out events like Open House. At this event, the student amabassadors would lead potential incoming stu- dents and their families throughout the school grounds offering them information and advice about Cov- ington Catholic High School. This year, the Ambassadors took on a little different job. The goal was to make sure that every freshman was given a fair chance when they walked into the doors of Covington Catholic High School. Under the leadership of Mr. Flesch and Mr. Barczak, Senior Ambassa- dors have been assigned freshman homerooms. Around 45 seniors have answered the call to act as Big Brothers to these new Colo- nels. Their goals thus far have in- cluded directions to classes, help- ing with locker issues, making sure ties are properly tied, and advice. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, these Ambassadors can be found in the freshman homerooms lending a guiding hand. Good luck to the Ambassadors and the freshmen who are starting the year off with a bang. Father Son Day (September 27) - Day full of father and son activities, such as kicking field goals, playing dodge ball, ultimate frisbee. Enjoy a chili cook-off and an entire day of fun.
