‘Our county has long beenadmired for its creativity’
DERBY is home to a number ofextremely talented companieswhere creativity is at their veryhear t.
As well as manufacturing andengineering, the city has a well-founded reputation for businessesthat think outside of the box.
The creative industries can spana variety of sectors from softwaredevelopers to architects.
Over the years, a number of newcreative businesses haveestablished themselves in the cityand are now flourishing.
It is these businesses that theCreative Industries Business of theYear Award at this year’s DerbyTelegraph Business Awards aimsto recognise.
This award has been judged bycategory sponsor HSKSGreenhalgh and the winner will beannounced at the awards ceremony,which takes place on June 24 atDerby College’s Roundhouse.
HSKS Greenhalgh is a newsponsor for the Derby TelegraphBusiness Awards.
The company is an EastMidlands-based firm of charteredaccountants, with an office inD e r by.
Managing director KultaranSingh said: “We feel it animportant part of our commitmentto the county to support localbusinesses and promote theirsuccess stories through a fantasticplatform such as the DerbyTelegraph Business Awards.”
Mr Singh said that his firmdecided to back the CreativeIndustries Business of the YearAward because Derbyshire has along history of creativity.
He said: “Derbyshire has longbeen admired for its creativity,from the mills and the jet engine,through to Lara Croft.
“The Creative IndustriesBusiness of the Year Awardrecognises the achievements ofthose innovative businesses whoare continuing this tradition byputting Derby on the map in thisimportant economic sector.”
Mr Singh believes thatDerbyshire is a great place for thecreative industries – and othersectors – to flourish.
He said: “From its traditionalindustrial heritage to the modernhigh-tech businesses that are nowemerging, Derbyshire is a boomingc o u n t y.
“With its central location andexcellent transport links, itcontinues to attract inwardinvestment and build on itsreputation, both nationally andglobally, as an excellent place tolive and do business.”
As far as his firm is concerned,Mr Singh said HSKS Greenhalghhad a busy 12 months ahead.

These are the ones that the Not-For-Profit Organisation Awardaims to recognise.
The category is being sponsoredby recruitment specialists SellickPartnership for the second yearr unning.
Sellick opened its Derby office in2009. Since then, it has expandedits team and considerablyincreased its market share acrossthe East Midlands.
This success has led to Sellickalways looking for new talent tojoin its team and support itsg rowth.
