The Egyptian Society for Bio-Anthropological Sciences was declared by the

decree No. 12 in 1988 issued by Wailie Directorate for Social Affairs, in Cairo, issued

on 7/5/1988, under number 3557. Initially it was situated in the Department of

Community Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University.

Fields: scientific and cultural services

Goals:

1. Encouraging scientific research in all fields of biological anthropology, and with

particular focusing on Egyptians, from biological and health aspects and their

relationship to their environment.

2. Taking into consideration that the human as a biological organism, under health

and disease conditions, is the product of geographic, social and biological

environments, in which he lives. The Egyptian Society for Bio-Anthropological

Sciences seeks to stimulate communication and interaction between scholars

working and studying the biological aspects of the Egyptians on the one hand and

those working with and studying health aspects on the other hand.

3. Encouraging the exchange of scientific information, about the human and his

relationship to his environment, between the different peoples and nations of the

world, through:

Holding limited scientific conferences and symposia, and inviting specialists, either

members of the Society or outsiders (external), after counseling the relevant

authorities.

Hosting and organizing international and regional local conferences, symposia and

seminars.

Encouraging the exchange of scientific publishing with similar Societies and

associations in other countries after counseling the relevant authorities.

Representing the Society in the international scientific conferences and sending

participants.

4. Contribution, participation and seeking ways to facilitate publishing the results of

the scientific studies related to biological anthropology of both regional (local) and

international scientific studies and subsequent publishing specialized scientific

journal (periodical) after counseling the relevant authorities.

5. Communicating the results of these studies and in particular the applied ones to

private executive bodies to consider the possibility of taking advantage of them,

when planning for what concerns the Egyptians.

6. The specific objective of The Egyptian Society for Bio-Anthropological Sciences is

to increase the specialized knowledge about the biology of the Egyptian and the

relationship between him and the surrounding human groups, and human beings in

general, and to clarify the practical aspects of this knowledge for the development

of the Egyptian and to raise his physical efficiency.

Membership fee: The Egyptian Society for Bio-Anthropological Sciences: 30 LE.

Conferences registration fee: varies from year to year, up to 100 LE.

Annual subscription fee: 20 LE.

The beginning of the financial year: 1/1 and ends on 31/12 of each year.

The number of members of “The Egyptian Society for Bio-Anthropological Sciences”

is >200 members.

The number of conferences that have been held so far is 22 conferences.
