BORYSPIL ACE & PLANNING STUDY 2
Objectives
To increase capacity in KBP up to 80 movements per hour taking into account the following:
how to increase efficiency to minimize costs to the airlines
how to manage runway safety
how to deal with environmental issues
BORYSPIL ACE & PLANNING STUDY 3
Current situation in KBP
• 2 independent parallel RWYs, mixed operation mode; • 2 parallel TWYs; • declared capacity – 45 m/hr; • real throughput – 36-44 m/hr in peak hours;• negligible number of low visibility days; • 84 routes (12 nat., 72 internat.)

Clusters
Short-term Cluster 1Includes infrastructural improvements on the runways and taxiways, on apron, terminals and operational improvements.Cost / Benefit : 57 / 121
BORYSPIL ACE & PLANNING STUDY 5
Short-term Cluster 2Includes infrastructural and operational improvements as Cluster 1. It would bring comparatively less benefit but for the less cost.Cost / Benefit : 44 / 99
Short-term Cluster 3Cluster 3 includes no infrastructural improvements, but variety of operational ones.Cost / Benefit : 22 / 72
Medium-term ClusterThis cluster has no possibility to be implemented until 2012, but has a great potential to increase capacity even more than to 80 movements per hour. Cost / Benefit : 54 / 83

Conclusions
As the result of the study we get:
1. Analysis of the airport operation.2. Definition of main capacity constraints.3. 4 different scenarios to increase capacity.4. Recommendations to deal with
environmental and safety issues.5. Solutions to increase efficiency
minimizing costs to airlines.
