The Fix In Section Six Rise Up. Stand Out.
Hello again Section 6! It has been great these past few
months of chapter visits, Sectional Leadership
Workshops, FIRE Conferences, and many other events.
The team and I have been traveling across Wisconsin and
have met with thousands of FFA members. If I haven’t
had a chance to meet you yet, I look forward to when our
paths’ cross.
Other than the busy life of FFA, I have spent a lot of time
in the woods bow hunting. I haven’t had too much luck
yet other than some nice bucks cruising through my food
plots and past the fleet of trail camera’s that I have hidden
throughout the woods. If you spend time in the outdoors,
stay safe and have fun this fall!
As the year continues, I look forward to seeing everyone again or meeting you for
the first time. If your chapter ever needs anything or if you would like for me to
attend an FFA event, just send me an email at [email protected]. Please use
me as a resource if you have any questions about FFA or would like input on an
FFA activity!

Get Ready Wisconsin FFA for 212/360 Degree
Conference and the Halftime Conference!
The 212 and 360 Degree FFA Leadership Conference will be held in
conjunction with each other in Wisconsin Dells on November 15th and 16th.
For the 212 Degree Conference this will be offered for freshman and
sophomore FFA members. The workshops offered will help students reach their
boiling point and learn more about how to be better leaders in their everyday lives.
The 360 Degree Conference will be offered for junior and senior FFA members.
These members will experience a full circle of leadership. Highlights of the
conference will include mingling with others, staying overnight, and having a fun
Wild West themed dance! Be looking for 212/EDGE Conference in the spring!
The Halftime FFA Leadership Conference will be held in January. Each chapter
can send two-chapter officers to this. The focus of the conference will help
members in preparing for the second half of the year and will give motivation to
finish the year strong in their FFA chapters. Highlights of this conference will
include a dance and games!

Leadership Development Events
What are Leadership Development Events (LDE’s)? LDE’s are speaking
contests that allow students to compete in a wide range of self-building speaking
areas. Students that have done LDE’s in the past have made friends across the
state, won awards and money, and gain valuable life skills.
Quiz Bowl – Offered for middle schoolers and ask’s FFA related questions
Creed Speaking – For middle school and 9th graders. Memorize the creed and
answer 3 questions
Employment Skills – Make a resume, cover letter, and job description to be sent
to the host school. Then interview with three judges for the job you are applying to
Prepared Speaking – Write a speech two weeks before the event. Send the speech
to the competition school. Memorize and give speech, and answer questions
Discussion Meet – Meet with other FFA members and discuss agricultural issues
Extemporaneous Speaking – Draw three random topics, pick one, write a 4-6-
minute speech in 30 minutes, and answer 5 minutes of questions
Parliamentary Procedure – Get a team of six together to demonstrate how to
properly run a meeting
The number one fear in the world is public speaking. Challenge yourself to better
your future in these contests!
I absolutely LOVE LDE’s, if you

Sectional Leadership Workshops
SLW’s were amazing! This year Wisconsin had record attendance of 2,275 FFA
members during our three weeks of SLW’s. The state officer team would tour at
least two agricultural related businesses before each SLW to gain more insight on
the agriculture industry. We had a blast and we hope that you did too!
FIRE Conference The officers also had three weekends of FIRE Conference’s for members that have
just joined FFA so they could learn a little more about what FFA is all about!
