The Gathering
There are both big decisions and little details to attend to as you prepare for your upcoming catered event. Let our catering team assist you from designing the perfect menu, to personalizing all the details of your unique gathering. Our catering services can accommodate any size, theme, or individual requirements, in virtually any location – on or off campus.
We’ll work with you to create a custom menu inspired by your unique needs that will leave a lasting impression on your guests. All menus will follow the Chartwells culinary philosophy; authentic recipes using the freshest, seasonal ingredients.
Waiter service, buffet, small plates and international inspired specialty stations: all served in your style! And because you’ve entrusted your event to Missouri State Catering by Chartwells, the food will be unmatched, the service spectacular, and the event will be unforgettable!

Plan Your Event
The Gathering
Policies & ProceduresTo ensure optimal selection and the best possible service we kindly ask that events be booked at least ten business days in advance. We understand events arise unexpectedly and we will do our best to accommodate your needs. A $25.00 late fee will be administered for all events with less than seven business days notice.
Guest CountsWe kindly request a confirmed number of guests be specified 3 business days prior to the event. This number is considered the guaranteed guest count.
Event TimeEvents are billed in four-hour increments. Events exceeding the four-hour limit will be subject to additional service fees.
CancellationWe kindly request that cancellations must be made five business days prior to the contracted event date.
Serviceware and ChinaDisposable serviceware will be furnished for all events requested to be on paper. Some exceptions apply to orders being picked up. We provide high quality disposable plastic ware. China and glassware is available for an additional charge of $2.25 per person held outside of the Plaster Student Union. Events held inside the Plaster Student Union will not incur china fees if china is requested.
LinenTablecloths are supplied for all food and beverages service tables at events. Tablecloths for non food tables are available for an additional $3.50 (85s x 85s & 114s x 52s) in white only and .15 per napkins in maroon or white. Linens are available in a variety of other colors and sizes at an additional cost. Please contact our catering office to discuss options.
Tax ExemptWe request tax-exempt forms be faxed to our office 417-836-6765 three business days prior to the event.
Billing & PaymentServices may be paid by cash, check, or credit card. Please make checks payable to Chartwells. Department events will be billed to a Missouri State University budget Number (if applicable). Invoices for department with budget numbers are sent simultaneously to the client and to Financial Services; resulting in a budget transfer to immediately pay the invoice. We cannot accept M#’s as a form of payment.
Special DietsSpecial diets can be accommodated, with three business days notice.
Meeting Room and EquipmentPlease reserve all non-food related equipment by contacting Event and Meeting Services at 417-836-5653. This will include room reservation, set and room configuration, audio visual and other general information.
Perishable Food PolicyFood safety is a high priority for Missouri State Catering. In adherence with the local Health Department regulations, it is our strict policy that all food must be consumed at the event. We do not allow perishable food items to be removed from the event.
Delivery FeesA minimum charge of $50.00 dollars will be charged to off campus deliveries, non- university buildings.
