    LONDON, 6TH NOVEMBER, 2012 --- Today, it was standing-room only atSothebys London sale room, as

    the auction of The George Daniels Horological Collection achieved a total of 8,285,139/ 10,343,972 /

    $13,249,594, far surpassing the pre-sale estimate of 3,806,390- 5,768,800. As four centuries of watches

    and clocks went under the hammer, 98.5% of the 137 lots belonging to the great British horologist sold

    when buyers battled for the highly prized timepieces. All of the nine watches made by George Daniels saw

    strong demand, selling above their high estimates. The top lot of the sale was George Daniels Space

    Travellers Watchwhich sold for 1,329,250 establishing not only a new record for Daniels at auction,

    but also a record for an English watch and for an independent watchmaker at auction. All of the proceeds

    from the auction will benefit the George Daniels Educational Trust.*

    Lot 9 - George Daniels,Space Travellers Watchdoubled its pre-sale estimate (400,000 -600,000) to achieve 1,329,250 / 1,659,565 / $2,125,737.

    Lot 10- George Daniels, The Grand Complication Watch achieved 914,850 / 1,142,188 /$1,463,028 surpassing the pre-sale estimate of 500,000 - 800,000.

    Lot 11 George Daniels, The Co-Axial Chronograph sold for 657,250 / 820,575 / $1,051,074above the pre-sale estimate of 300,000 - 500,000.
