pema gesar dongpo lain the heart of a lotus flower,༔ཡ་མཚན་མཆག་ག་དངས་གབ་བརས༔

yamtsen chokgi ngödrup nyéyou came, renowned as Lotus-Born,༔པད་འབང་གནས་ཞས་ས་གགས༔

pema jungné zhesu drakyour supreme siddhi wondrous,༔འཁར་ད་མཁའ་འག་མང་པས་བསར༔

kater lama nam la solwa depall the gurus of Kama and Terma, I supplicate you.

འག་མན་ཆས་ཀ་དབངས་ཀ་ཕ་བང་ནས། །

okmin chö kyi ying kyi phodrang néFrom the dharmadhātu palace of Akaniṣṭha,དས་གསམ་སངས་རས་ཀན་ག་ང་བ་ཉད། །

dü sum sangyé kün gyi ngowo nyithe essence of the buddhas of the three timesརང་སམས་ཆས་ས་མངན་སམ་སན་མཛད་པ། །

Practitioners of true simplicity༔རན་ག་རལ་འབར་སང་པ་ན༔

to apply this essential, daily yoga,༔དབན་པར་བསམ་གཏན་སད་རང་བའ༔

in a solitary place gather all factors༔ཡན་ལག་ཐམས་ཅད་ཚགས་པར་བ༔

that make them recipients suitable for meditation.༔ད་ནས་ར་གཅག་ཏང་འཛན་གས༔

Then, with one-pointed samadhi,༔ལ་སགས་ཡ་ཤས་དན་ལ་འཇག༔

they apply the true meaning of deity, mantra, and wisdom.༔

mön dang jukpé jangchup semkyé né༔Rousing bodhicitta in aspiration and application,༔

hum ༔ tongnyi ying lé yeshé küntu nang༔Hūṃ ༔ From the basic space of emptiness, primordial wisdom illuminates all, and,༔ར་ཡ་ཏང་འཛན་ཧཿལས་འད་འཕས་པས༔

gyu yi tingdzin hrih lé ö tröpé༔as light radiates out of the seed samadhi ‘hrīḥ’ [ཧཿ],༔སང་སད་ཐམས་ཅད་པད་ད་བའ་ཞང་༔

nangsi tamché pema drawé zhing༔the entire phenomenal world becomes the Lotus Net Realm.༔ང་མཚར་བཀད་པ་བསམ་ཡས་དཀལ་འཁར་དབས༔

ngotsar köpa samyé kyilkhor ü༔At the center of this wonderfully arranged, inconceivable mandala,༔རན་ཆན་སང་ཁ་པད་ཉ་ཟའ་སང་༔

rinchen seng tri pema nyi dé teng༔Atop a lion throne, lotus, sun and moon,༔ཧཿཡག་ཡངས་གར་བདག་ཉད་སད་ཅག་གས༔

hrih yik yong gyur daknyi kechik gi༔the syllable hrīḥ [ཧཿ] transforms and instantly༔

nangsi zilnön kar mar zhitrö nyam༔reddish white in complexion, expression both peaceful and wrathful;༔ཕག་གཡས་ར་ར་ར་ལ་མཁའ་ལ་འཕར༔

chak yé dorjé tsé nga kha la char༔A five-pronged vajra in the right hand, held aloft in the sky; ༔གཡན་པས་མཉམ་གཞག་བད་སང་ཚ་བམ་བསམས༔

yönpé nyam zhak dekyong tsebum nam༔left hand in the gesture of equipoise, holding a skull-cup and longevity vase, ༔གསང་ཡམ་སས་ཚལ་ཁ་ཊ་གཡན་ནས་འཁལ༔

sang yum bé tsül khatam yön né tril༔embracing the secret consort hidden as a trident in the crook of the arm;༔པད་ཞ་གསང་ཕད་ཆས་གས་ཟ་བར་གསལ༔

pé zha sangpö chögö zaber söl༔wearing the lotus crown, secret gown, inner dress, Dharma robes, and silken cloak;༔

ཞབས་གཉས་རལ་སབས་འཇའ་ཟར་ཀང་ན་འགང་༔

zhap nyi röl tap jazer long na gying༔With two legs in the reveling posture, sitting in an expanse of rainbow lights.༔

ས་བར་ལངས་ས་སན་རས་གཟགས་དབང་དང་༔

chiwor longku chenrezik wang dang༔Above my head is sambhogakāya Avalokiteśvara༔རགས་ཀ་བདག་པ་ཚ་དཔག་མད་མགན་བཞགས༔

rik kyi dakpo tsepakmé gön zhuk༔and the family lord, Protector Amitāyus;༔སང་འག་ཕགས་མཚམས་རམ་འཕལ་བཅ་གཉས་དང་༔

teng ok choktsam namtrül chunyi dang༔all around, the twelve manifestations abide on two levels in the cardinal and intermediate directions,༔ར་གསམ་ཆས་སང་ར་མཚ་སན་ལར་གཏབས༔

tsa sum chösung gyatso trin tar tip༔And countless three roots and Dharma protectors amass like clouds—༔དམ་ཡ་དབར་མད་གདད་ནས་ལན་གབ་པའ༔

damyé yermé döné lhündrupé༔all, the spontaneous presence of primordially inseparable samaya and wisdom.༔རགས་བདག་ཐགས་ཀའ་ཧཿལས་འད་འཕས་པས༔

rikdak tuké hrih lé ö tröpé༔From the ‘hrīḥ’ [ཧཿ] at the heart center of the family lord, light radiates out༔སད་ཞའ་ཚ་བཅད་ཀན་འདས་རང་ལ་ཐམ༔

sizhi tsechü kündü rang la tim༔and absorbs back all the vital essences of existence and peace, which dissolve into me.༔

འཕགས་མཆག་འག་འདལ་ཐགས་རའ་ཆ་འཕལ་གས༔

pakchok drodül tukjé chotrül gyi༔The Noble Tamer of Beings’ miraculous display of compassion༔རགས་དག་འག་བའ་སག་བསལ་ར་བཅས་སངས༔

rik druk drowé dukngel gyu ché jang༔clears away the suffering of all six classes of beings, along with its causes.༔རང་ཉད་རགས་འདས་བ་མའ་ཐགས་ཀ་ར༔

rangnyi rik dü lamé tuka ru༔In the heart center of myself, Guru embodying all families,༔གསར་ག་ར་རའ་ལ་བར་ཧཿཡག་མཐར༔

ser gyi dorjé tewar hrih yik tar༔a golden vajra carries the ‘hrīḥ’ [ཧཿ] syllable at its center.༔སགས་ཀ་ཕང་བས་བསར་ལས་འད་ཟར་འཕས༔

ngak kyi trengwé kor lé özer trö༔The mantra garland encircling it revolves and emits light,༔འཕགས་པ་མཆད་ཅང་སམས་ཅན་དན་ཀན་བས༔

pakpa chö ching semchen dön kün jé༔making offerings to noble ones, and benefitting all beings.༔ཕ་སད་དག་པ་རབ་འབམས་འག་མན་ཞང་༔

chinö dakpa rapjam okmin zhing༔The outer vessel is boundless purity, the Akaniṣṭha Realm;༔ནང་བཅད་སང་སད་གཞར་བཞངས་ཕག་རའ་ལ༔

nangchü nangsi zhir zheng chakgyé lha༔its inner contents are the mudra deities, the ground manifest as the phenomenal world.༔

སར་གགས་སགས་ལ་དན་རག་འད་གསལ་དབངས༔

drar drak ngak la dren tok ösel ying༔Sounds resound as mantra, thoughts are the luminous expanse.༔ཐན་མང་ལས་བཞའ་ཕན་ལས་ལན་གས་གབ༔

tünmong lé zhi trinlé lhün gyi drup༔Commonly, the four awakened activities are instantly accomplished.༔མཆག་ཏ་མ་འགར་བད་ཆན་ར་རའ་ངང་༔

chok tu migyur dechen dorjé ngang༔Supremely, within the vajra of immutable great bliss,༔འཆ་མད་ས་གསམ་ག་འཕང་ཐབ་པར་བསམ༔

chimé ku sum gopang topar gyur༔the three kāyas’ deathless state is achieved.༔

ཨ་ཨཿཧ་བཛ་ག་ར་པད་སད་ཧ༔

om ah hum benza guru pema siddhi hum༔oṃ āḥ hūṃ vajra guru padma siddhi hūṃ༔

འབ་གསམ་ས་གསམ་དབར་མད་ལ༔ བཛ་ག་ར་རགས་ཀ་གཙ༔ པད་དཀལ་འཁར་འཁར་ལར་སང༔ སད་ཧ་ཞས་དངས་གབ་བསལ༔

The three syllables (oṃ āḥ hūṃ) are the indissociable three kāyas. ‘༔ Vajraguru’ is the family lord, ‘༔ padma’ appears as the mandala’s outer circle,༔and ‘siddhi hūṃ’ summons the attainments.༔བསན་སབ་ལས་གསམ་ཆག་དལ་ག༔ ར་རའ་སགས་འདས་ལས་ཀན་བད༔

This vajra mantra that combines approach, ༔ accomplishment, and activityfulfills all activities.༔

Arrange whatever food and drink you have, and say:

ར་ཡ་ཁ༔ ཡ་ཤས་མ་རང་ཆ་ཡས་དངས་སང་སངས༔

ram yam kham ༔ yeshé mé lung chu yi ngönang jang༔Raṃ yaṃ khaṃ ༔ Wisdom fire, wind, and water purify grasping to appearances as real,༔སད་བཅད་གཞར་གཞངས་ར་རའ་ལངས་སད་གར༔

nö chü zhir zheng dorjé long chö gyur༔and the vessel and contents as the manifest ground become vajra enjoyments.༔

ཨ་ཨཿཧ༔ ཧ་ཧཿཧཿས་བན་རབས།

om ah hum ༔ ha hoh hrih༔oṃ āḥ hūṃ ༔ ha hoḥ hrīḥ༔

སན་འདན་མཆད་འབལ་ན།

With that, consecrate them. To then perform the invitation and present theoffering, say:

drup chok dak la wang zhi kur༔Bestow the four empowerments upon us, supreme yogis!༔བགགས་དང་ལག་འདན་བར་ཆད་སལ༔

gek dang lokdren barché söl༔Remove all obstructers, false guides, and hindrances,༔མཆག་དང་ཐན་མང་དངས་གབ་སལ༔

chok dang tünmong ngödrup tsöl༔and bestow the supreme and common siddhis!༔

rikdzin gyatsö kyilkhor lha tsok la༔Host of mandala deities, infinite vidyādharas—༔ར་རའ་ལངས་སད་འདད་ཡན་ར་མཚའ་སན༔

dorjé longchö döyön gyatsö trin༔I present you ocean-like clouds of vajra enjoyments,༔བད་སང་ཟང་འཇག་ཚགས་ཀ་དགས་མཆད་འབལ༔

detong zung jug tsok ki gyé chö bül༔a delightful offering of empty-bliss union.༔ཐགས་དམ་བསང་གར་ཉམས་ཆག་སག་ལང་བཤགས༔

tukdam kang gyur nyam chak dik tung shak༔May your hearts be fulfilled, and all my breaches, misdeeds, and downfalls confessed.༔

sölwa depso jin gyi lap tu söl༔I supplicate you, bestow your blessings!༔ཕ་ནང་གསང་བའ་བར་ཆད་ཞ་བ་དང་༔

chi nang sangwé barché zhiwa dang༔Pacify the outer, inner, and secret obstacles༔བསམ་པ་ལན་གས་འགབ་པར་བན་གས་རབས༔

sampa lhün gyi drupar jin gyi lop༔and bless me that my wishes be spontaneously fulfilled!༔

Namo guru! ༔ On the tenth day of the monkey month of the monkey year, theGuru of Uḍḍiyāna said this aspiration prayer in the 'turquoise-coveredshrine' on the second floor of Samye, at the time of opening the Vajradhātumaṇḍala. The great tertön Chokgyur Dechen Lingpa, who was an emanation ofprince Murup Tsenpo, revealed this treasure publicly, below the peak ofDrakri Rinchen Tsekpa (Precious Rocky Mountain), on the right edge of themost sublime place, Sengchen Namdrak (Great Lion Sky Rock). The termawas originally written down by Yeshé Tsogyel in formal Tibetanhandwriting upon silk paper made from the Dharma robe of Vairotsana,and was immediately and perfectly transcribed by Pema Garwang LodröThayé upon discovery. གང་ས་མཐང་བས་ཐ་མལ་འཁལ་སང་འགགས། །

gang ku tongwé tamel trülnang gakSimply to see your form puts a stop to ordinary deluded perception,གསང་གསང་ཐས་པས་བད་ཆན་ཡ་ཤས་སད། །

sung sang töpé dechen yeshé kyésimply to hear your secret voice arouses the wisdom of great bliss,

pa chik lama bö do tsewé gongLama, my only father, I cry out to you: think of me with love.

བདག་དང་བདག་འདའ་མགན་མད་ཉམ་ཐག་འག། །

dak dang dak dré gönmé nyamtak droI and those like me, beings who are worn and weary, with no-one to protect us,སག་བསལ་འཁར་བའ་ར་མཚར་བང་བ་ལ། །

dukngel khorwé gyamtsor jingwa laare drowning in samsara’s ocean of suffering,མགན་པ་ཁད་ལས་སབས་གཞན་མ་མཆས་པས། །

gönpo khyö lé kyap zhen machipésince we have no other refuge or protection but you, lord,རམ་དག་སན་པའ་གནས་འད་མར་འགབ་མཛད། །

namdak mönpé né di nyur drup dzöswiftly make this, our pure aspiration, fulfill its aim.

གནས་སབས་ནད་གདན་འབང་པའ་འཚ་བ་སགས། །

nekap nedön jungpö tsewa sokHere and now, eliminate the harm caused by illness, döns, jungpos and the like;

tünkyen lektsok gyepar dzé du sölfavorable circumstances and everything positive and good.

མཐར་ཐག་ངས་འབང་བང་སམས་གཏང་ནས་འབངས། །

tartuk ngejung jangsem tingné jongUltimately, grant us your blessing so that when we have cultivated a deep experience of renunciation and bodhicitta,སང་གགས་རག་གསམ་ལ་སགས་ཆས་སར་ཤར། །

nang drak rik sum lha ngak chökur sharand appearance, sound and awareness arise as deity, mantra and dharmakāya,ཀ་དག་ལན་གབ་ར་རའ་གསང་ལམ་ནས། །

kadak lhündrup dorjé seng lam néthen through the special vajra path of primordial purity and spontaneous presence,མཆག་ག་དངས་གབ་བརས་པར་བན་གས་རབས། །

chok gi ngödrup nyepar chingyi lopwe may attain the supreme among siddhis, enlightenment.

chiwa ösel dön gyi pema jungwhen the clear light dawns at death, let me behold in itམངན་སམ་མཐང་ནས་འབལ་མད་བསང་བ་ཡས། །

ngönsum tong né drelmé kyangwa yithe actual presence of Padmasambhava, and abiding there, inseparable,རང་བཞན་ཆས་སའ་དབངས་ས་གལ་བར་ཤག །

rangzhin chökü ying su drölwar shokmay I be liberated into the dharmakāya space of the nature of all things.

Through the blessing of the great master of Uḍḍiyāna who knows past,present and future, in the natural gathering place of ḍākas and ḍākinīs,Drakmar Zangyak Namkha Dzong, on the upper slopes of Tibet’s five-peaked mountain, while celebrating the tsok feast on the tenth day of thewaxing moon of the miracle month of the Male Iron Dog year (1850), called‘the common one’, the vidyādhara Khyentsé Wangpo, favorite servant ofthe omniscient Guru, made this prayer, and may it be blessed so that itcomes to pass exactly as it says. Sarva maṅgalaṃ!

getsen mejung shipé metok giremain replete until the end of time, like an ever-lasting celebration,འཇག་རན་གསམ་ན་རག་ཏ་མཛས་གར་ཅག །

Since the sons of the siddha together with some sangha members fromTenchok Gyurmé Ling requested me to offer a long life prayer using thename Rikzin Gyurmé Dorjé bestowed by the embodiment of the victors ofthe three times, the 16th Gyalwang Karmapa, I, Maṅgala Śrī Bhuti, atantric practitioner who was touched by the nectar of Jamgön Khyentsé’sblessing, composed this prayer in the presence of the Kutsap Yizhin NorbuNgödrup Palbar. May these aspirations come true!
