consists of motorways and
major trunk roads; other roads
in England are managed
by local authorities.

The Principle Aim of the Agency is
• Safe Roads and Reliable Journeys.
Our prime Objectives as an Agency are to:
• Reduce Congestion and Improve reliability
• Improve Road Safety
• Respect the Environment
PLANNING OBJCETIVES
• To ensure more effective delivery through better working relationships.
• Engage in the Spatial Planning System
as: A Statutory Consultee A Stakeholder/Partner
HA AND THE PLANNING SYSTEM
• Spatial Planning causes movement on the Network.
• Much of the Network is congested.
• Planning Team balances demands against constraints on the Network.
HOW THE AGENCY ENGAGES
• Aims to work as a Partner or Stakeholder.
• Use our knowledge & resource to provide information and evidence.
• So that strategies and decisions can be made objectively and with awareness of our needs and concerns.
