The Nature of the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is something God givesActs 5:32 32 And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.

1 Corinthians 6:1919 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

Therefore, the Holy Spirit is a distinct personality of GodJohn 16:7-8 7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send Him unto you. 8 And when He is come, He will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

A personality that has specific attributesHe knows and teaches1 Corinthians 2:11-1311 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

The Spirit revealed itJohn 14:26

2 Peter 1:2121 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as

they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

The Holy Spirit is at work today but will not reveal anything that has not already been revealed!!!

Some will reject the plan of God but God will not send another plan (Acts 4:12).

Some will reject the cross of Christ but there will not be another sacrifice (Jn. 14:6).

Therefore the Holy Spirit will not reveal anything other than what has already been revealed.

John 20:30-31 30 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this

book: 31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

Indwelling of the Holy SpiritThe Bible teaches that He does.

But what does the Holy Spirit do by dwelling in us?
