Welcome to our Autumn Term edition of ‘GOAL’, the newsletter that keeps you up to date with PE and sport here at The Howard. It has been a very busy term for our children and I have been particularly pleased with how enthusiastic our re-ception children are in PE lessons. We have some very talented gymnasts and I look forward to watching them progress over the coming weeks. Check out the photos inside that show some of the work we have been doing on balance in class 1.

TRI FEDERATION NETBALL CHAMPIONS!

Our sports teams continue to go from strength to strength. Following on from our success at last years cricket competition, our netball team re-tained the trophy winning matches against both St Mary’s and Richard Crosse. A huge well done to all who took part !

SPORTS COUNCIL

Well done to those children

who were selected to repre-

sent this years sports council.

We have a very busy term

ahead and I look forward to

working with them!

Class 2: Russel and Hattie

Class 3: Tegan and Seren

Harry and Seth

Volleyball Taster Sessions

Mrs. Wall from Rawlett came

into school recently to work

with Class 2 and 3. She deliv-

ered a series of volleyball les-

sons and they enjoyed the

challenge of a new sport.

Miss Jennings said how im-

pressed she was with the chil-

dren and we look forward to

attending a competition later

in the year.

Sainsbury's Active Kids 2017

Many thanks to the parents who helped to collect the Sainsbury's active kids vouchers at the end of last term. Across the 3 schools we collected over 8000 tokens which al-lowed us to purchase new equipment that will go on to enhance the opportunities for all our children. Look out for the start of this years promotion and get collecting! Thanks once again.

Merry Christmas

and a Happy

New Year!

LEADERSHIP Class 3 have been working on their leadership skills and as these picture show, they had the opportunity to test

themselves as ‘leaders’ when delivering activities to Class 1. Each group selected a skill to teach and they had to de-sign and deliver a practice that would help younger chil-dren. They did admirably and Class 1 had a great time!
