It is also giving us joy and anticipation of warmer days ahead, when we will be able to enjoy reading outside the walls of our homes. We are pleased to announce that the Friends of the Haverford Township Free Library had a very successful fundraiser with Anthony’s Coal Fire Pizza last week. The Friends raised over $340 that will go to support the Library! We would like to extend our appreciation to Anthony’s Coal Fire Pizza, and to all who participated, and to the Friends for organizing this event. We hosted a powerful program last night; In Plain Sight: The History of Slavery in Haverford Township. The response from the community was overwhelming with over 270 attendees - shattering our previous record for virtual program participants! Our presenter Colin McCrossan shared his research about slavery in the township and some of the individual histories of enslaved people who lived here. Click here to view a recording of the event. We were very encouraged by the response to the program and we hope to provide more programs like this for our community in the future! You will also see below some new book picks from our librarians that you can order using our online catalog or through calling the library at (610) 446-3082, ext. 503. Once your order is ready, you can come by and pick it up using our curbside service. We hope to see you at the door soon! Warm regards,
