On Tuesday, August 19, 2014, at 12:29 P.M. the local Steak & Shake caught fire after a lightning strike and storm. During the storm on the 19th of August many lightning strikes happened and one hit Steak & Shake, which is located on Locke Dr. near Armor Road in Bradley. The fire was small and contained, but the whole kitchen was ruined and is now under construction. For now Steak & Shake is closed, but have no fear if you are a fan. They have a food truck outside to keep business running. There were two other fires near Steak & Shake in the last two years, one at Denny's and one at Brown & Brown. I wonder what will be next?

Drop Everything & Read
A new school year means new programs and that’s just what DEAR is. Periodically, students and teachers are asked to drop whatever they are doing and pick up a book. Have you been prepared? Once DEAR is announced, students are chosen at random to read in the library with Mr. Kohl or Mrs. Anderson but they must have their book with them. Everyone else in the whole school participates in silent reading. It is definitely something to see walking up and down the hallways witnessing the entire student body reading. Remember…
Readers are Leaders!
