Our 1st team had a thrilling 5-3 victory over Bex-hill Utd two week ago, 3-1 down after 66 minutesbut an incredible fightback saw four goals three ofwhich came in added time!
Sadly they couldn’t maintain their winning formlast week at 2nd placed Mile Oak, going down 2-1but remaining in 6th place and still in touch withthe leaders.
The reserves exited the Surrey Cup on penaltiesafter 1-1 draw with Worplesdon Phoenix and theSunday team lost 3-1 to league leaders Warling-ham Reserves.
A disappointing time for the u18s as well, a 3-2 de-feat at Dorking was followed by a 2-2 draw at Re-dhill on Monday.

The club committee would like to remind ALL spectators who watch Lingfield that they are expected to abide by theclub’s Code of Conduct whether that be here at Godstone Road or when following the team to their away fixtures.
This is particularly relevant in our behaviour towards match officials. Everyone who partakes in the game at this leveldoes so because they love and enjoy it, whatever side of the fence they are on. Spectators, officials and players have
disagreed with match officials since football began and regularly make their views known. However this should not de-generate into personal abuse towards match officials who are doing their job.
We are reprinting the spectators Code of Conduct below and would remind all supporters that a failure to adhere tothese brings the good name of the club into disrepute and offenders will be expected to answer to the club committee
for their actions.
I WILL:• Remember that children play for FUN
• Applaud effort and good play as well as success
• Respect the Referee’s decisions even when you don’t agree with them
• Appreciate good play from whatever team it comes from
• Remain behind the touchline and within the Designated Spectators’ Area
• Let the coach do their job and not confuse the players by telling them what to do
• Encourage the players to respect the opposition, referee and match officials
• Support positively and offer players encouragement not criticism
• Never engage in, or tolerate offensive, insulting or abusive language or behaviour
I understand that if I do not follow the Code, any/all of the following actions may be taken:
I MAY BE:• Issued with a verbal warning from a club or league official
• Required to meet with the club, league or CFA Welfare Officer
• Required to meet with the club committee
• Obliged to undertake an FA education course
• Obliged to leave the match venue by the club
• Requested by the club not to attend future games
• Suspended or have my club membership removed
• Required to leave the club along with any dependents.
IN ADDITION:• The FA/County FA could impose a fine and/or suspension on the club.

Oh what difference a week makes.... the high of the last gasp victo-ry against Bexhill last week was cancelled out this week with a dis-appointing defeat to fellow promotion hopefuls; Mile Oak.
In my opinion, the set up down at Mile Oak is the worst I've everseen at county level football. The ground is hidden behind somesort of community centre, there is no clubhouse and the car parkfits about 5 cars. The pitch has a huge slope and contains very lit-tle grass, everything about the place is grim and that's why a pointand get-the-hell-out-of-there is never a bad idea...... unfortunately, this wasn't to be.
We were dealt a blow on Friday lunchtime when we learned thatAFC Croydon Athletic wanted to call Kristian back from his loanspell which left us without a keeper, which is far from ideal withonly 24 hours to go. Fortunately, Tony stepped up from the re-serves to don the gloves but that meant we were now missing 3out of the back 5 that had started last week which obviously dis-rupts the continuity and consistency that we are after.
The Gaffer set us up in the usual 4-3-3 but was forced to play Bel-ly at centre half as we were missing the likes of Doddsy, Gatesy,Thommo, & Joey - Belly has been at the heart of nearly all our posi-tive offensive play so we were always going to miss him up top.Rob wanted us to only knock the ball around in their final thirdwhich makes sense with the surface so we knew we had a battleon our hands and that set pieces would play a crucial part.
The game was as expected; stop-start, not much passing, a lot of'hitting the channels' and '50-50's', actually a style that I absolute-ly hate as it doesn't really feel like you're playing a proper matchbut there you go. Mile Oak took the lead and deservedly, theywere a real threat from corners and after having one cleared oneoff the line and hitting the bar they finally converted one afteraround 20 minutes. Rory went through on goal before the breakand got brought down and what would previously have been anobvious red card, apparently new rules mean that double punish-ment can't be given so a yellow card and penalty it was, I convert-ed to bring us level.
The second half was more of the same with very little clear chanc-es created by either side. The game looked destined to finish one-apiece until the last 5 minutes when we were dealt a sucker punch. We gave a needless free kick away in our own half and the lad whoshould or could have been sent off in the first half rose highest tonod in the winner.
A bad result for us and another late goal conceded. Off the top ofmy head, I think we have conceded 5 late goals this season whichhave cost us a minimum of 5 points. We've also conceded a lot ofgoals from set pieces and it is something we need to work on - badhabits like those will prove costly if not corrected and improvedupon.
We will look to get back to winning ways against Billingshurst to-day at the Lair. Thanks for reading!
