General School Contributions We are seeking from parents and carers a voluntary, General School Contribution. Funds raised through this contribution are used to supplement educational resources and programs in our school. This year, the School Contribution amount has been left unchanged at an amount of $40 per student. The funds raised are used to pay for the following: • Resources to support learning in the six Key Learning Areas (English, Mathematics, Science &Technology, Human Society & Its Environment, Personal Development, Health & Physical Education and Creative Arts) • Library books and computer resources • Sporting equipment Rydalmere Public School welcomes your contribution as this will significantly enhance the resources made available to students. I would like to thank all parents for their generous School Contribution support given to the school and the students previously.

Parent Teacher Interviews These will be held in Week 10 from 30/3-2/4. Information about these and how to book your interview will be sent home on Friday this week. Any family needing help with making a booking is urged to contact the school so our friendly staff can help you. Easter Hat Parade & Colouring Competition Our Easter Hat Parade is on Thursday 9 April. We encourage all students to participate in this event. Notes detailing this event will be sent home soon. Our hard working P&C will also be running an Easter Raffle. Please support this generously if you can – you may even win some great prizes!! Swimming Carnival We held our swimming carnival on Monday 24 February. There were 18 eager swimmers who swam extremely well and showed perfect behaviour throughout the day. Our students were a pleasure to be with and did a truly fine job at representing our school. As a result of this carnival, 13 students qualified for the Zone Swimming Carnival. Congratulations to these students. Miss Gray and Mrs Dube will accompany our swimming team to Zone on Tuesday 3 March. Good luck swimmers!! Selective High School Placement Test This will take place on Thursday 12 March for students who have previously applied for this. Dancefever Multisport Due to Dancefever needing to reschedule one of our sessions from last fortnight, we will have an additional session of sport on Monday 6 April. Please ensure your children are dressed in sport uniform for that day in Week 11. Sport uniform is not required on Thursday of Week 11 (this is a designated mufti-day for our Easter Hat Parade). New Assembly Day Assembly will now be held on a Friday every even week starting in Week 4. Assembly will run 12:25pm-1:00pm. Parents will receive an invitation two weeks prior to their child’s scheduled assembly date. NEW School Pick Up Procedures This year all teachers will walk their classes to the cola at 3:00pm for students to be dismissed from there. All parents are welcome to wait
under the cola or on the silver seats for their child. This is to ensure the safety of students and that teachers are fulfilling their duty of care. Squiggler will have a designated spot under the cola where students will be picked up and a roll marked. Any students who are late to be picked up will be at the office from 3:15pm onwards and parents will need to sign out their child. Please contact the office if you know you will be running late prior to 3:00pm. Nutrition Snippets

The Smith Family – Clothing Appeal A note on the end of an era for clothing collections by The Smith Family (updated January 2020): In 2020, The Smith Family will cease its Recycling Operation and will no longer support clothing collections.
Stewart House has worked in partnership with The Smith Family for more than 50 years on clothing drives run in NSW schools. As this longstanding partnership comes to an end, we would like to thank the wider school community for their support over the many years.
As part of our unique arrangement, The Smith Family generously provided bags and undertook the task of collection from schools. Stewart House was then paid for each kilogram received. We were grateful for some $18,000 raised each year from this collection.
We sincerely thank The Smith Family for supporting Stewart House and the vital role we play in the lives of children-in-need from public schools. Though we will miss our partnership, we wish The Smith Family every success well into the future.
