Final Project

The clients, Mr. and Mrs. Thorne are the new home owners to a brand new log cabin. They plan to use this log cabin home as a secondary home for getaway vacations. Since it will be used as a vacation home it needs to be luxurious and a place where they can relax. The cabin will display features as stone, wood, natural light, and colors that you would find in nature as well as some custom furniture. The exterior of the log cabin will make its move into the home, to continue the country look. On the first floor, the layout will have an open floor concept, from the kitchen to the dining area and great room. The great room will display a stone fireplace that will lead straight up to the ceiling of the home. Off to the left of the kitchen, your master suite will be located with an on suite bathroom and walk in closet. The second floor is a bit smaller averaging about 616 square feet. As you walk up the stairs to the second floor, a loft will sit off to your left. In addition, your last two bedrooms are found on the second floor with a shared bathroom. In order to make this design successful, they need an interior designer and that’s where I come to help. The goal of this project is to make this home as cozy as possible as they will spend a large proportion of their life here with their two children.
