WASTE COLLECTIONA 2 bin kerbside service is provided to rural living areas and a 3-bin service is provided to residential, commercial and industrial properties within townships. Both services include a weekly waste collection (red lid), fortnightly recyclable collection (yellow lid) and townships have the additional organics bin (green lid). All bins are required to
be presented on the day of collection by 6am and bought in from the street at the end of the day to prevent damaged or stolen bins. Disposing of appropriate materials in the yellow and green bins will ensure they are recycled. It is important for the recycling and organics bins to not be contaminated with banned materials as this may force the truck load of resources to be redirected to landfill where it won’t provide any benefit. If you are unsure of which items go in which bin head to whichbin.sa.gov.au.

Waste Transfer Stations/Resource Recovery CentresWaste Transfer Stations and Resource Recovery Centres operate at Millicent, Penola, Beachport, Glencoe and Furner. The facilities are closed on Christmas Day and days with a Catastrophic Fire Danger Rating. Wattle Range residents must segregate their waste and recyclable materials before coming onsite and provide a valid waste disposal voucher. A rate notice or driver’s license will be required to access the service. Twelve large trailer vouchers are posted with rates notices each year. Alternatively, smaller loads equivalent to a 240L bin can be bought in, with the voucher stamped up-to 4 times and collected on 5th use. Green waste is accepted at Millicent, Penola and Beachport. For information on acceptable wastes by location check your Waste Calendar, Council’s Website or call Veolia on 8724 8121.
