Older People’sFestival

1 to 31 October

Supported by

The Festival’s aim is to showcase the many activities and services that already exist for older people, as well as offering some special events to encourage people to try new things and meet new friends.

Gateshead Council is delighted to be supporting this month-long Festival in partnership with Age Concern Gateshead, Akzo Nobel International Paint Fund, Gateshead’s Older People’s Assembly, The Primary Care Trust and The Gateshead Housing Company Community Fund.

Not only will it highlight what we and our partners already provide, but it will give us the chance to consult you on the draft Gateshead Strategy for Older People.

Your views will be vital in helping us plan services both now and in the future.

Peter Mole MBEGateshead Council’s Champion for Older People

The Gateshead Housing Company and its partners have a commitment to offering excellent services to all customers, especially for those with disabilities or specifi c needs, through affordable housing and housing services.

Many older people across Gateshead are benefi ting from the company’s Decent Homes improvement programme, its popular gardening scheme and our Small Tasks service.

The Gateshead Housing Company Community Fund is delighted to once again support this Festival, and hope that older people across the whole borough will enjoy the many events and activities on offer during this month and beyond.

Barbara Dennis OBE DLBoard Chair of The Gateshead Housing Company
