LET GO AND LET GOD
Isaiah 41:10 “Do not fear or be dismayed. I am with you, I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you & uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
As we journey through life we all will face challenges, difficulties, times of change and transition. Solomon in Ecclesiastes 3 says, “There’s a time for everything, a season for every activity under heaven.”
Over the last few months it has been mine and Sylvia’s joy to observe our young grandson go from a crawler to standing, to awkwardly wobbling and walking and now almost running. He faced each challenge with determination and confidence.
As Christians we too go through situations and challenges and gradually gain confidence as we grow stronger through
Our relationship with God Promises from the Bible Past experiences of coping
As we face a new year 2017 soon, let me ask you to stop and look back on your life. How has God been with you and helped you and your family?? Although life and circumstances may change dramatically, God’s word tells us not to fear, He is our God. He will remain present with us throughout time and eternity.
Pastor Mike

P A G E 4 V O L U M E : 6 3 - 1 1 & 6 4 - 1
In a day where we limit most conversations to 160 characters or less, newsletter articles to 100 words or less, and we are always encouraged to keep it brief; be sure to take the time this Christmas season to unplug and engage in meaningful conversation with those around you. Make wise use of this time of year to cultivate a sense of community within your family, church and local neighborhoods. Luke 19:10 gives us the reason for Jesus’ incarnation, “to seek and save what was lost.” If you are wondering who the lost are then read Matthew 9:35-38. The NIV renders the lost as those who are “harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.” Celebrate Christ this season by engaging in His purpose statement, seeking those who are lost. Ask Him to allow you to see those around you who are without hope and to give you opportunity for ministry to them. If you do these things and are obedient, you will truly have a blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Pastor Stuart (P.S...this is 180 words!)

P A G E 5 V O L U M E : 6 3 - 1 1 & 6 4 - 1
“How can I say thanks for the things You have done for me? Things so undeserved, yet You gave to prove Your love to me. The voices of a million angels could not express my gratitude.
All that I am, and ever hope to be, I owe it all to Thee.”
These are the only words that seem adequate to express my love to the Lord and to my
church family for allowing me the privilege to serve Him with you for these past 35
years! You have celebrated so many joyous occasions of my life with me and have
encouraged me through the difficult times. I cannot possibly express my gratitude for
the wonderful celebration you gave for Mike, me and our families. Thank you to
everyone who worked so hard and gave so much to make it a day we will never forget.
Thanks to everyone who came and celebrated with us, the kind words of love, the cards
and gifts. Ben, Alan and I love you all so much!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Peggy

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year! We have lots of things happening in the Pre-school and Children’s Ministry in the upcoming months. Right now, however, the children are selling a wooden nativity to raise money for Lottie Moon missions. Be sure to stop by their table in the Vestibule to check them out! Also, our Children’s Christmas Program and Church Wide Christmas Social will be on December 11th at 6pm. The children will be performing a short play entitled “Follow the Star”. AND...we will be Christmas caroling with the youth on December 14th at 6pm followed by a hot chocolate and cookie social!
Have a safe and happy holiday everyone!
