Signing my flag
The cover photo is from 2 years
ago. What great club members we
have.
I’ve been getting back out on my
bike, serviced and new tyres, oh I
have missed this. The mornings
are cold, but if you just have that
second cuppa before you go out,
it’s perfect.
There are so many tyres out there
to choose from, but it is important
to make sure you get the right tyres
that suit your bike and you. Do
your homework and have them
fitted by someone knowledgeable.
The right tyre will give you
confidence and keep you safe.
I didn’t realise how many different
brands there are out there. I’ve
listed a few on page 8, see if you
can find them all.
Stay safe, and hope to see you out
there riding soon
Gail

Presidents Report
Hi Fellow Bikers,
Wildlings pillions. My daughter is (when she is not socialising with her friends).
It would be great to see club members posting pics of themselves and their willing pillions
enjoying this great pastime.
Also watch this space for details of club
rides kicking off again.
I, myself am looking forward to when we
can do a Bikers Breakfast again.
Happy motorcycling guys!
Cheers,
Bazz.

Back in 2015 is when Jack made it to the MotoGP,
coming up straight from Moto3.
My MotoGP buddy Fiona and I have been bumping into Jack
since 2016 when I first attended the Philip Island race.

Wayne’s Column
Hi Members
THERE’S NOT A LOT OF HAPPENING
EVENTS to write about as the club is
officially closed and there are no official
planned rides.
So, we are just having informal rides on
Monday, Thursday and Saturday, meeting
at 9am because of the cold weather.
We had 6 members on Monday at the
Tahbella café. I had to book seats ahead of
time and we had a nice ride through the
cane fields to Horizon Shores.
I usually do a book review out of our
extensive library but for a change, I’ll talk
about our club magazine Australian
Motorcycle AMCN that we get delivered
and it’s the best all round magazine and
covers all aspects of motorcycling.
The current issue, May/June has the
Reader’s Choice Award which was the
2014 Kawasaki Ninja H2. Herve
Boudelot, one of our members has one. A
fantastic bike.
There is also the AMCN award for the bike
of the Decade which had 12 contenders
whittled down to four.
They are 2018 Ducati Panigale V4, 2013
BMW R 1200 GS, 2010 BMW S 1000 R,
two Beamers! And Murray Kehely now
has a S 1000 R, and the fourth 2015
Aprilia V4 1100. The winner of this award
will be in next month’s magazine.
There is a full road test on the Kawasaki
100 SX, the Yamaha Scooter, T MAX
which is more like a motorcycle and a
good write up on Guy Coulon, Motor GP’s
longest serving engineer and an amazing
man.
Then there is a biography on Trevor
Pound, a remarkably successful racer, and
Ian Boyd’s incredible collection of 44
classic Vincents.
And there is all the latest news and gossip
on the road and track racing.
All in all, something for everybody and we
can read it while we are self-isolating if
you buy your own copy.
It won’t be long, and we’ll be riding
together again.
Stay Safe
Wayne.

Just Ride
How good is it to be out riding again with restriction easing and blue skies? We managed to
escape up the mountain between working hours.

Fun Fact
On October 7th, 2014, the longest
ever backwards motorcycle ride
was set in India by Dinavan
Choudhury. 202 klms (just over
125 miles)

Yes, the clubhouse is closed but we are still riding. We are heeding health care advice in social
distancing, avoiding large gatherings and taking the responsibility for ourselves and our
community, to wash our hands and bring our own hand sanitiser.
If you feel unwell at all, please get tested.
We are all looking forward to having the club open but being safe and well is more important.
Keep riding, our bikes miss us.
